I finished watching YuYu Hakusho in my senior year at highschool exactly in the last day of school. Everytime I remember YuYu Hakusho I remember Highschool nostalgia. Those 112 episodes are the best really unique.

Honestly as far as anime goes Yu Yu Hakusho just has something special for everyone. For me it was seeing how Yusuke doesn't fit the traditional mole in life but he's a young man learning how to be a man. He learns that people care for him after he dies so he doesn't take them for granted. He learns that facing your own mortality is important as running from it might result in you becoming a monster and that not being the strongest is ok. He learns that the world is not just black and white and that questioning what you do and believe in is important so you can keep yourself in check and don't let an authority decided who you are. He learns that remembering why he's in doing enduring any of the hardships in life instead of running away is because he knows the value of dealing with what's coming and that facing the uncomfortable is what life is about in order to grow and steady ones self in the face of adversity. Honestly can't imagine my life without this gem teaching me so much as a kid
