It sounds wacky, monotonous, depressing... and yet hopeful... in a melancholy kind of way. It was used appropriately during those moments where these characters were in terrible pain. Often losing the battle but still pushing forward with the will to fight on despite facing impossible odds. It made them endearing to watch and it became one of the many points where I knew this show was something special.
