@15:30 since they won't use Princess on Lotus, you can pop Spirit with Pain and get Squirmer, Spirit float into Yubel (Promethean is OTK), NS Squirmer into Almiraj (Promethean is useless now) and banish it from GY to revive Spirit and do 6400 dmg (8x800). BP attack IP with Yubel 800 + float into terror 800 + Spirit 800 + float into Yubel 800 + float into Terror 800 + Yama in GY revive Spirit 800 + float into Yubel 800 + float into Terror 800. Ironically with the 3rd form (none sane plays it) it is OTK. Skill Drain + Pain is super nasty.

TLDR: Spirit in hand turning Apo into Varudras. Step by step: Banish Squirmer in GY to SS Spirit from hand, or use Gates to discard Spirit then SS Spirit. Spirit gets Pain, pop Spirit to get Yubel and a Squirmer (effect from hand not used yet) or Lotus (if you want to end on it or don't play Apo) then using Squirmer in hand + Yama you make Rage but now Apollo for 2 become Varudras instead by using the other revive you didn't use in the start (Gate discard Gate, revive Spirit then get Gate back, or banish Squirmer to revive Spirit). For the Lotus route, one of 2 revives goes to it instead of Spirit, Lotus tribute to get a 2nd Spirit from deck, Yama + Spirit into Rage while you have Yubel on the field and go to end phase. Then you first use Lotus eff to revive itself, then Yubel upkeep instead of Tributing you just destroy itself. Yama in GY triggers reviving Spirit to make Lotus live since it works with any Yubel monster and only needs the original for the revive.

Ruling question: why does D lotus resolve not negated @14:16? I know if D lotus is impermed it can activate but will be negated. Is it due to skill Drain saying activated effects are negated?

skill drain only negates if its activated on the field. lotus sends itself for cost so it resolves in the graveyard thus dodging skill drain's negate

Yeah it tributes for cost so once it is activated it is in the gy and no longer affected by skill drain same reason why the snake eyes player could use snake eyes ash to summon Flamberge from deck under sd

iirc unlike imperm skill drain only negates monster's effects on the field, so anything that resolves not on the field isn't subject to it. TLDR: any monster that removes itself from the field for cost can resolve under skill drain (Snake-Eye ash summon eff, lotus summon eff, accesscode pop effect (as long as it banishes itself), koi'meru guardian negate, you get the idea) The difference with imperm is that it negates one specific card. Even if that card leaves the field for cost, it's still recognized as the card that had its effects negated on the field, so it resolves negated, no matter where it wound up.

Skill Drain only negates while monsters are on the field, so when D Lotus activates it's no longer on the field for Skill Drain to negate. Samsara still activates on the field so Imperm still negates the effect as it was there when activated, while Skill Drain only requires the monster to still be on field to negate

@@seraadrc9090I think you meant Skill Drain only negates if it's face up on the field. D Lotus activates *and* resolves on the field, however it dodges Skill Drain because the card is no longer face up on the field at resolution

Happy to see I'm not the only one playing Yubel at 45 cards. Deck's too bricky without phantom, drawing one of the Yubel or the Unchained trap/Sharvara really sucks. I play 12ht + spoly + prosp to still mantain consistency, and I must admit is working kinda well at least for me.

I have a question for The Voiceless Ritual Spell, am I allowed to tribute my Sauravis and my Diviner for my Skullguardian or am I just allowed to use my Sauravis, because he is already Level 7?

@@Shigota_der_WeltenzerstoererNot true for the Voiceless Voice ritual spell. You're allowed to use as much material as you want. It says "equal or exceed" the ritual monster's level, meaning you can tribute Sauravis and Diviner if you want

@@wizcaster77unfortunately you are wrong in this case. As a rule of the game in general you cannot “overpay” for a ritual summon, IF you have enough material otherwise. An example for the card text you’re referring to is: let’s say you had prayer, skull guardian, and nibiru in hand only. In this situation you CAN use nibiru as the whole tribute, even though it exceeds the level required, as it meets the requirements of the text of prayer, and is the only card you could use for tribute. In the situation for the original commenter however, since you already have a card that can meet the requirements by itself(Sauravis), you cannot choose to “overpay” or purposely send more material than required, if you already have something that can meet the requirements by itself. Another example: If you had prayer, skull guardian, Sauravis, nibiru, and Lo in hand, you can either use Lo by itself as the whole tribute, Sauravis by itself as the whole tribute, or nibiru. But you wouldn’t be able to use any combination of them together.
