YUCKY FLEA's!! We find lots of Fleas on the poor doggy.

She was definitely embarrassed by the situation but I explained that I certainly understand how easily it can get out of control. Often people try all sorts of things but it's not enough to get them under control. A good flea wash, the oral tablets or chews, washing all bedding and surfaces at home and even putting builders lime in the yard will get rid of them for good. I've personally had a bad infestation before becoming a groomer and nothing worked! We'd kill them off for a week or two and suddenly they'd be back again! Once I got the right advice, we were able to win the battle. Absolutely no judgement from me and all thr help I could offer. That doggy will be flea free from now on.

You know why you are the best grooming channel? It’s because you are honest about what really goes on. I’ve seen things like sever matting , these fleas and I’m in disbelief!!! When a dog has fleas, do you have to disinfect bedding, linens, and furniture. You were so gentle with the dog. Your caring is lovely. To see.

Absolutely! I prefer clients to mention fleas on booking. That way I can advise taking a flea tablet which can be administered prior to the appointment or on arrival. Then we can get them straight into a flea bath. I also recommend setting off the flea bombs at home when you leave so when you get home, you can put all bedding straight into a hot wash and then your all good to go, flea free. If the dog is an outside dog, I also recommend keeping them in for a few days and spreading builder's lime in the grass this kills them outside but your pet should not have access to the area for a few days or more. You should research this yourself however as there are mixed opinions.

We just adopted a 8 yr old husky from a rescue and she came to us with fleas. It's horrible. Treating the dog, house and my other dogs. First time I've ever had to deal with them and it's disgusting.

Seriously? That was INSANE! You are going straight to heaven for taking on that challenge!! My first encounter with fleas was an odd one -- was looking to rent an apartment and sat down on a chair to write a deposit check (not knowing the place was totally infested with fleas!) and after 1 hour drive back home the apparent punks were having a feast on my legs (underneath my pantyhose as I was coming from work). I am allergic!!! had to go to emergency for a shot of something....an estimated 150+ bites later????? You are a remarkable groomer! ❤️

oh wow... yes Fleas are Aweful.. we had them in the house once years ago in our old house, they were in our bed it was awful they bite your legs while you sleep it took us a while to even work out what was going on they are so small to don't see them.

This was as heartbreaking to watch as your severely matted clients. She had to be so itchy and constantly scratching. A simple flea collar or even better flea, tick and mosquito protection is so simple to control. I was startled about how filthy she was - the waste water was literally like a weak tea color! I hope you had a good long conversation with her owner. Those pests had to be everywhere - her bedding, everywhere in the home, the car, etc. No wonder they traveled 3 hours to get you to work on her. They were likely too embarrassed to stay local.

There is good possibility she didn't know she may have picked the little thing up as a stray. That happened to me with stray cat i took in . i took to vet nuetered got all shot tatoo nail clip and tattoo and flea treatment. 3 days later i had to bath him there were so many fleas before i took him to shelter i made sure they knew of flea problem. After fleas were gone cat was adopted lovable boy. I would have kept him but my cat did not get along with him she is now 13 years the other cat was young they figured 3 years old. I followed up with shelter to make sure he was ok.

What is a flea bomb and how does it work?

Flea bombs are an aresol can that you set off in an enclosed room. Shut off all electronics, open all cupboards and drawers (make sure there's no fish tanks or other pets and birds in the room) cover or remove any food. Close up all windows and doors. Then you set off the can in the middle of the room and leave. It empties itself and fills the room completely! After 3 hours or so you can go in and wipe down any surfaces like bench tops. Otherwise it kills everything! And leaves protection in the room for sometime after. Great little things to have on hand!

I am new to your channel I love it... I love how sweet and kind and loving you are. My two year old baby is mix collie/lab and when she came home at 6 weeks of age she was covered in fleas from the mother and other pups... We did a deep clean outside in an bowl and dawn dish soap which worked well. I know she was too young to come home but I felt I had to save her from uncaring home. The mum was not a breeding dog the male across the road came to visit. But we have given her a loving home to grow up in. Keep up the good work

I mean they drove so far and you said there are plenty of groomers in the city I think they declined her. Good job on that doggie. I give you a tip if you don’t want that the dogs shake , especially in a situation like this, wet the head if you are done with the body. is the flea spray meant to be diluted? the sprays that I know should be applied undiluted. I hope they are gone now.

Hey Jennie, thanks for the tip 🥰 The flea treatment I use is concentrated and definitely needs dilution. It's used in the hydro bath at a ratio of 10ml to 1lt water. I do have to use distilled water to keep it stable for a week at a time so I don't mix very large batches at a time. I am sure she was turned away by other groomers. I believe the dogs deserve care and although fleas can be terrible, with the correct handling, you can avoid contamination quiet easily. There are far worse things to warrant declining a client.

Someone dropped a dog off outside our house that had fleas that bad. He was miserable! I can't afford a groomer so I had to use a flea comb before I could treat him. I know right! Fortunately, the owner brought flea treatment tablet which I administered on pick up! Hopefully she got onto the fleas in the house and car! Fleas are absolutely horrible!! Last year I had maybe 1 or 2 cases. In the few weeks since this video, I had 3 more come in, completely infested with fleas!! Thank goodness we are 1.5 weeks flea free! 🥵 it's a work out to clean absolutely everything in the salon in one night! 3 times in a row!!
