I just want to express my love for Arthur Lounsbery(Yudias's jp seiyuu), I'm following him for like 3,5 years and I was surprised to know that he's voicing someone in yu-gi-oh(I got into fandom on spring 2023). I've only finished 11 or 12 episodes of go rush but I already love Yudias and I appreciate Arthur's job, he's doing really great Arthur is also a good singer and he appears in several musical projects(such as actors songs connection, from argonavis, milgram). Highly recommend to check songs and covers performed by him

Honestly, as someone who has never seen an episode of Go Rush (I heard it was too childish, goofy, and hand-holding for newer players) Yudias is the kind of protagonist that makes me want to watch his story. Intensity, passion, humor, sincerity, these are traits I love to see in characters, and in a YuGiOh series, I feel like a character like this is always needed, even in darker shows. Someone who’s just a paladin of light and what they see as Justice is just great. Plus, it helps that his JP VA is just giving his everything in his lines, oh my Ra. Those “War to Zen!” are hitting like a shuttle on reentry.

The pronunciation they decided on for Zwijo's name caught me off guard probably more than even "Linac" or "War to Zen" being replaced with "Fight for the Light". Overall, though, sounds like they definitely hired a VA who can capture Yudias's character! I figured they wouldn't go all faux-medieval like his Japanese lines, but the proper enunciation and somewhat flowery word choice is a great way to go

we've known this since sevens was released, you can probably find people's comments about them in the early sevens uploads. all of the post-sevens released speed duel characters also have voice lines for maximum summoning and other rush lines as well, which implies that's it's not impossible for speed duel characters to play rush or the rush characters to play speed duel in the future.

My assumption is that Konami would (possibly) want to have every character play any type of duel, so they’re getting everything ready for any possibility. You can see that some Zexal, ARC-V and VRAINS characters have lines for “Maximum Summon” and “Fusion Summon (Rush). Who knows? We might see a change soon

@@chaosgallade2331 That may only slightly work for the names, but there's no argument when it comes to the flavor text, when it's definitely supposed to be what he says out loud in the japanese dub. Regardless of reason, it just sounds worse and even removes personality. Him having a naming convention for a lot of his attacks in "war to zen" and the subsequential actual attack name being some cool words jumbled up "awesome true goodnight" sells him being an alien way more (because it's weird and how you'd expect someone foreign to make up attack names in english, a language they don't really understand, only think it's cool and shit), unlike the more coherent, and boringly generic "fight for the light" and "pure finish" for examples. Misses the whole point. I hate Yu-Gi-Oh localization...

So for his mannerisms in English to me it seems they went for Knight-like which makes sense given Yudias is a soldier and his sword. "Fight for the Light" is so in line with the long history of cheesy English catch phrases I can't help but dig it. This is to say *nothing* of the absolute nightmare it is for them to *actually* have a line for each damage value even if it just stopped at 5950 which isn't even the best logic for a stopping point if so as your LP can go above. Some may be able to tell, but the voice work was attempted to be reduced by them just reusing other takes of other values and roughly pasting them, but that might arguably be *more* work for the engineers having to put these together rather than just doing more takes counting up...and still people will find a way to critique the English side somehow like they're not trying to put in an equal effort.
