Today, let's talk about the famous masterpiece "Manjiang Hong·Nu Fa Chong Guan" by the admired hero, Yue Fei. Through this burning classic poem, we can also understand some of the stories of Yue Fei's patriotism. Reading this poem, we read a piece of blue blood and a determined heart. I've always felt that "nu fa chong guan" is simply a god-given pen. This emotion is bursting out and uncontrollable. The patriotism of the Chinese nation is like this, it is melted into our bloodstreams through the blood of generations of benevolent people and warriors.
“Expressing My Ambition” To the Phrasal Tune of “The River Runs Red (Man Jiang Hong)”
By Yue Fei, an Army General and Poet in Song Dynasty
With wrath raises my hair end,
I lean on the railings; the raindrops stop to descend.
While looking up at the sky, a deep roar I send,
An intensive emotion I transcend.
Achievements and fame in thirty years are like dust and sand,
As well as the clouds and moon in the thousand-mile land.
I’ll not idly let my hairs turn grey, and be gnawed by empty sorrows then.
靖康恥,猶未雪;
Oh, the humiliation of losing our capital has not been avenged;
When would my vengeful wrath come to an end?
We’d drive the chariots, and into our foes we shall offend,
We’d eat their flesh, hungrily as we intend,
And drink their blood, to our thirst’s content.
When we’ve recovered all our lost land,
In triumph we’d return to the Palace grand.
