Ive been practicing a lot these last 2 weeks. In main deck: cut 1 infantry and the icejade for 2x TTT Extra deck: i think dweller is extremely broken if you use it under abyss king, I mainly use it when i see my opponent hand and theres always fiendsmith cards LOL Add Levirtue dragon: the trap is not a brick, it’s a -2 for your opponent and can make moon a water monster to hit that combo line. I also use it to trigger chengying. Side: i would add 1 Spooky dogwood (searchable with abysspike) extremely clutch on games 2-3 I will try to add tidal to my list to push rank 7 plays, maybe kashtira fenrir too Nice list man, you are based asf

Very nice, I've been on the train that says MA does not need a lot of non-engine - we're not playing snake eyes that had room for 20 billion handtraps while every good card is a starter/extender that gets you to the same endboard. Keep it up brother and smash that regional!

Mermail is a bit like tearlaments and dragon link in that way, where the lack of non-engine is made up for by the fact that deck has in-engine outs to a lot of boards

On the note of virtue stream I find that ending on virtue stream and a guy after getting heavily hand trapped can beat a lot of boards. Then the protection effect can help you on the crack back or disrupt your opponent’s combos as well

That def is true but tell me a situation where you get handtrapped a lot but end up having the materials for a rank 3 ... for me that almost never happens

Sweet! decklist imo is improving some more! abyss keeper didnt came up enough for me to warrant a ED spot. but I probably should add it back and give it another shot! who knows. Im always thorn between abyss dweller or using stealth kraken. finally figurued it out for what I want my deck build to do and for the previous meta to now have stealth kraken get some more points in the current meta. its annoying as fCK :D im gonne keep dweller for now. C00l to see the 2nd infantry and I think icejad ran is a good addition but seeing what you want to do with your deck. I see where you are coming from. tough choice. I cant bring myself to cutting that card but thats because I have lancea control in the side deck.(takes up only 1 side deck slot) and trishula zero + lancea in the main. its just too powerful.

@sirdeepfry2484 I very much considered lancea in the side as lancea seems like the best shifter out. Hmmmm... actually as I'm writing this comment, I'm starting to consider a legitimate version of wht a hybrid deck could look like. As for dweller vs kraken, I think if u don't play lancea u need kraken for dweller, and if u play lancea, then dweller is probbs a more viable and flexible option

Picked up the mermail cards alittle around 10 years ago now, Best investment I ever made. Right now is probbs the most fun I have ever had playing yugioh

I completely understand if you wanna cut the ran if you dont know the combo lines with her. As for me i love the card and its never coming out of my Mermail deck. I whole heartily agree when you said that the extra deck at times couldn't keep up with the main deck. I wish konami would increase the extra deck count to 20 already. The extra deck space is tight and there is so much i wanna play but cant fit it.

I think Xyz Encore is really important if you are playing in a heavy Ryzeal locals (Regional+ kind of goes without saying) just because your only out to Detonator+ Dweller is Droplet as they can simply dodge the Imperm via Detonator pop, and also Droplet burns cards really hard. Honestly I kind of just feel like playing Gamma in this deck even though it's a one of and comes with a brick, just so there is like one card you can sac going second into a Shifter deck because i'm pretty sure getting Shiftered when you go second is an instant loss (so is going first but at least you have another 4 cards to try to catch that). Maybe it's just what it is, but something to think about.

Kragen is soo important in this meta because it s ftk against fiendsmith engine, if u re against ryzeal fs, fs kashtira, going first u do kragen instead of second toad and going second u end up with kragen after u broke opponent board and he s without followup because kragen makes everything become water and nobody can summon requiem and he cannot do engraver effect to pop kragen because requiem has to target a light fiend to equip

@luKaz895 i have found leviture to not provide enough value as some of the other cards I playnto warrant a slot in the extra, mainly due to the fact tht the best value obtained from leci comes from a trap card u have to main/ side. I try to limit the amount of "bricks" in a deck. Currently i have roughly 5ish. Deepseaking, shif, gunde, and 2 infantry. These cards while being bricks composed to the trap offer immediate value on turn zero, are waters, and still allow u to play out ur whole hand. Tldr, I don't like traps 😅

Don’t cut Ran. She does well against a Ryzeal board and if you are going to cut her I don’t think you cut abyss keeper.

@@deepseaygo250 I honestly think once you get enough games with Ryzeal you will come to the same conclusion as I or other Merlantean players, which is ran being a key piece to unlocking the Ryzeal board. Also, I am back on the virtue stream b/c the secret eff to change your opponent monster into water helps stop the fiend Smith line. IMO virtue stream is bad but the destruction eff is needed to help with chaos angel.
