I feel like chat didn’t do a very good job at this. Humongus Owl was 1 out of 2 cards that made the combo of the most played deck in last set before nerfs, patches is still an op card, making any Wild aggro deck use the pirate engine (and pirate warrior is top 3 deck in the format for about 2 years because of it, quest and ancharr), Varian wasn’t very good at all, Mr smite is a niche option in a very good deck and Idol of Y’shaarj is used in Big Priest but that deck wasn’t even tier 3 since that card was printed (big priest was good in the era Duel Logs said he played, but not since Idol was printed). I feel like they used “tier 0” WAYYY too much. Some of the cards said to be “tier 0” were tier 2 at best

Idk wtf chat is saying about Varian Wrynn, it wasn't a good card and only saw a miniscule amount of play in control warrior after which people realized it wasn't good. A 10 mana 7/7 that draws you 3 cards is horribly inefficient. Most minions played in control warrior are tech cards or cards with important battlecries, which you lose when you summon them from deck. Drawing 3 cards loses you the mirror match. In an ideal situation it only draws you spells/weapons so that you have more fuel for later turns, but that is simply not worth the card slot at 10 mana. EDIT: Patches is still literally played in any pirate deck in wild. It's still a 1/1 for absolutely free that you don't even need to draw. The thing about refreshing spring water as well is that mage has a ton of discounting (which is why ignite is also really good). If you discount the card you literally draw cards and also go positive in mana for playing it.

More in-depth look at the cards: Humongous Owl - Good in Arena. In Constructed, it's used exclusively in an OTK deck. It's one of the faster OTK decks in current meta and said OTK has a high damage ceiling (up to 112), which is surprisingly relevant in its meta. The deck was much stronger earlier, but most of its survivability got hit and it fell to the wayside. Conjure Mana BIscuit - It's only OK. It mostly saw play in Mozaki Mage, a deck which aims to cycle a ton of spells in a single turn to create an OTK-like state. It didn't really see play in other Mage decks, primarily because it's too slow and "Refresh" is very different than "Gain." Desperate Prayer - Was good for a brief period of time. Control Priests briefly ran it because healing is great against aggro decks, and it synergizes with a card that deals damage to the enemy board equal to the amount of health you restored this turn. But outside of exactly that, no Priests ran this. Astral Communion - One of the OG meme cards. Discarding your hand is a very, very big downside for gaining 10 mana crystals, and usually completely defeats the purpose of gaining so much Mana. Emeriss - Yep, it was terrible. Hunters did NOT want to run such a big, expensive, and slow card. Most other classes wouldn't either. Troggzor the Earthinator - Another blast from the past. Troggzor was so ridiculously overhyped, because it fell into a meta well equipped to deal with it. At the time, most decks were aggro and overloaded with minions, spells were the least of your problems. It was also released alongside a much better 7-cost card which was much more useful, Dr. Boom. Varian Wrynn - It saw a small amount of play, Biggest issue was it typically wasn't a very powerful play unless you highroll and it pulls your Ragnaros. Ignite - VERY hated card, primarily because you can see this card get flung into your face tons of times in one game. Hate aside... it only sees use in combo Mage decks, it's way too slow for most other Mage decks because it requires drawing and playing this card multiple times. Celestial Alignment - Technically speaking, Alignment always kinda sucked because it got ran over by aggro due to the deck's utter passivity until Alignment comes down. It specialized in creating massive boards in a single turn, and in some variants, it could OTK, but the OTK variants weren't as good. Plus it was a wonderful combo deck that can force-brick other Combo decks. Horrendous Growth - Too slow and it's just a beatstick. Beatsticks don't do well in Hearthstone, you typically want them to do something other than just big a big unit, like being able to attack the turn it comes out, protect you, or kill something. Icehowl - To accurately demonstrate just how terrible Icehowl is, for 1 more mana you could instead get a 1/1 rabbit with Poisonous, Rush, and the ability to damage adjacent minions (allowing it to immediately clear 3 minions). It saw fringe play. "Can't attack Heroes" is a very big deal for your big bundle of stats. Idol of Y'Shaarj - It's OK, primarily because it ONLY sees play in Big Priest decks. Most resurrect decks use targeted resurrects, so you can run support cards, and that is a major antisynergy with this card. Plus, again, a big bundle of stats isn't very good in Hearthstone, so hitting some Battlecry minions with this is pretty bad. Korrak the Bloodrager - So, very, very annoying to deal with. Lots of decks struggle to deal EXACTLY 5 damage. Plus, decks like Resurrect Priest can resummon this. Very vulnerable to the numerous transform and pseudo-Silence effects running around Standard right now though, best way for some decks to deal with Korrak is to turn him into a frog. Maiev Shadowsong - It was eclipsed by a Neutral which costed 1 less and froze a minion for a turn which released in the same set. Neat effect, but just kill the minion instead of playing a 4 mana 4/3 to deal with it later. Patches the Pirate - Even without Charge it's a staple in every aggro deck in Wild. To demonstrate that: The top Wild Priest deck runs a Pirate package SOLELY to summon Patches on 1. Trampling Rhino - Face Hunter has been using this card ever since it was printed. Rush + Breakthrough on a reasonably big minion is a devastating combo which is good in so many boardstates, especially in a deck whose sole goal is to push as much face damage as you can. Mr. Smite - Really versatile card used in a lot of decks which want a Charge guy as a finisher (as he's the only neutral Charge in Standard right now). Can be disgusting in Pirate Warrior, which can sometimes RNG this guy for free, but that deck is fading into irrelevance. Refreshing Spring Water - Mage decks for most of this card's existence only ran at most 3 minions. Paired with Incanter's Flow, this was quite often Pot of Greed. Super good cycle, if you got multiple discounts this could GAIN mana, which made it ridiculous. Kayn Sunfury - It's a niche card, primarily because ignoring Taunt isn't super useful. Plus it's competing with Illidari Inquisitor, an 8/8 with with Rush that also attacks the same enemy your Hero does without wasting its own attack, which is much better. Tanaris Hogchopper - I forgot this existed until now. Yeah, too often this was just a 4/4 do nothing, because your opponent usually had cards in their hand. Or they were a face deck, in which case this 4 mana 4/4 was not what you want to be doing right now. Y'Shaarj the Defiler - Saw play in a variety of less viable Control decks. Most prevalent play was in Ramp Druid, but it was often used for disgusting turns. Otherwise it was too slow, especially since it required running a ton of slow Corrupt cards to make it worth running.

Humongous Owl is an interesting one. It was slept on, and by all means it's a terrible card if you can't abuse synergies, but it was part of a very strong deck in Standard relatively recently, and there's a Deathrattle Rogue that was made by Dane in Wild format that uses this field spell that doubles deathrattle triggers. If you cheat it out and use Necrium Blade while the spell is active, it will deal 32 dmg from weapon break alone because the interaction is coded as the weapon deathrattle triggering twice the owl's double deathrattle, effectively quadrupling the dmg. It also has a lot of AoE packed from neutral deathrattles and looks janky, but it's pretty good if you're not playing against fast Wild OTK decks.

Ignite (9:45) was/is part of a tier 1 deck in wild (eternal format, all cards are legal). The deck uses minions that make spells in your hand cost less and another that draws a spell from your deck after you play a fire spell. It was low tier one-high tier two if you were honest, but the best deck in game if you were a cheater. It kills you with an "infinite" damage otk because you keep playing and drawing ignite, doing more and more damage. The problem is animation times limit how many times you can draw cards and cast ignite before your turn is over. Cheaters would go into there game files and modify them to skip animations and do triple or more the damage that an honest player could do in one turn. One of the decks main mana cheat cards, sorcerer's apprentice, was was recently nerfed by two mana, doubling it's cost killing the deck (thank god). There were numerous twitter threads from top ten players complaining and showing proof of losing to the same cheaters over and over again - a specific cheater, holycrab, camped rank one for a long time by cheating. Blizzard took months to address the issue, and even then many cheaters dodged the ban. The deck seemed dead, but I saw a twitter post just yesterday that people have reconfigured the deck to deal with the nerfs, and are back to cheating with it.

Humongous Owl was an amazing card that was the staple of a tier 1 deck before the deck received several nerfs. The card itself is meh, but this deck used to be capable of easily killing you by turn 7 or 8 and had extremely insane survivability. It’s a weird first card to rate because the card itself doesn’t seem very good, but, without it, OwlTK Warlock would have never existed for the brief time it did.
@panthermonium38452 жыл бұрын
OwlTK still works and is still good, and was very prominent in the first week of HS Grandmasters, because it's strong in the tournament meta but the deck works on ladder still. Mana biscuit is one of the centerpieces of the mozaki OTK right now, which is a very strong deck. Desperate prayer is used for Xyrella, but also as a 1 mana spell in miracle priest, for discounting other spells with nazmani bloodweaver. Communion is a meme Troggzor was not used competitively, but Irondeep Trogg is a spell hate card that was very broken (1 mana so locks out the coin and is cheap to play so not a brick card until then) and printed right before 2021 World Champs, so if you want to see how absurd it was go watch some of those games, but even after the nerf it sees use, and Crossroads Watchpost is another spell hate card that has seen niche use in some specific experimental decks recently. Varian idk about, big warrior in wild doesn't use it so i assume it is bad Ignite had some absurd combos in wild, but in standard is just run in mozaki mage because it is a 2 mana spell that can go face. Also in quest mage and ignite mage, but both of those have faded away in standard. Alignment has seen some play in the tournament meta as part of an anti-combo lineup. Cool card but overshadowed a bit by Kazakusan. Horrendous growth has not seen play in constructed, although I would love for corrupt priest to be a thing. I have had some success with corrupt priest in Duels, but that gamemode you can run anything and if you get lucky you can win. Icehowl was maybe usable back in TGT? but still seems slow for that meta because it can only remove one thing on the turn it was played and provides no face pressure. idk i didn't play then Idol is interesting, but yeah big priest is not great atm. Korrak does not see play. It's fairly easy for most decks to remove, and does not provide much pressure if they cannot remove it easily. Overhyped one. Maiev i do not really know. I know it saw a bit of play in highlander mage in Scholomance meta which was the first where i paid attention to competitive, but not much and not in all lists. Patches is busted in wild yeah Rhino is very strong, the big threat that rounds out face hunter, which runs a card that tutors and buffs it to a 7/6. Also with Trueaim Crescent you can get it to hit a second minion on the turn it is summoned, for a lot of damage and removal. Mr Smite saw use with Edwin, Defias Kingpin in the start of Alterac Valley, but with Thief Rogue's nerfs it is no longer played there. It sees play in alignment druid as a win condition with Survival of the Fittest and Jerry Rig Carpenter, in Shadow Priest (one of the stronger aggro decks atm) as a finisher, and in quest warrior for finishing and charging pirates summoned by the Juggernaut. Spring water is a card I hate because I do not like the deckbuilding or playing process of spell only decks, or almost entirely spell decks, which this supports. It is incredibly strong in all spell based mage decks, which is all non-ping mages right now. Kayn is not used right now because taunts are not in a huge amount of decks, and in those that are, Demon Hunter aims to clear them with Expendable Performers for an OTK combo or just heal while hitting them. OR clear them with Irebound Brutes in Brute DH. Kayn, being matchup specific and not winning any matchups outright, does not fit in those decks. Tanaris Hogchopper is a card that has no upside except in situations where the opponent is playing off the topdeck and therefore is almost certainly lost anyway. Except in topdeck wars in arena, but it's still garbage in arena. Y'Shaarj sees a decent amount of play in Bolner OTK Shaman and some ramp druids still run a corrupt package, although Kazakusan has kind of taken over the ramp druid space. I guess this was a month and a half ago so before the miniset and before some of the meta shifts, but chat was still quite wrong then.

On the topic of Troggzor: You did the same thing that everybody did when this set was being announced. This card was only trash due to the context of the game. This card was released in Goblins vs. Gnomes alongside Dr. Boom himself: a card so powerful that he was given the name “Doctor Seven” since he ALSO cost 7 mana. Troggzor most likely wouldn’t have been considered so bad if Dr. Boom wasn’t the same mana cost as him with an effect that was good enough to turn him into a staple legendary on par with Ragnaros and Sylvanas. He was so good, basically every single deck ran him including face decks at the time.
@redwings134002 жыл бұрын
I dunno, I think Trogzor has some conceptual problems that would make it bad unless the meta was incredibly slow and spell heavy. 7 mana cards are hard to play since they take up the majority of your turn, even in the late game, so they need some really strong upsides to make work. Trogzor is a 7 mana 6/6, which means unless you're ahead on the board already, your opponent can just trade with it and kill it, getting further ahead in the process. If it procs its a fine card, but even spell mage can kill it off with a fireball, so there are very few situations where its amazing. Its terrible vs aggro or minion heavy decks, the only time it can get value is against control, spell heavy decks, and even then those decks usually have the tools to deal with it. Basically, it has low stats and an inconsistent effect which your opponent has to activate in order to get it to pull its weight. If everything lines up perfectly, it can snowball in your favor, but most of the time its just going to be a subpar minion that your opponent can pretty safely ignore or kill off without much trouble.
@jacksonmagas96982 жыл бұрын
@@redwings13400 It was hyped because miracle rouge was one of the best decks in the meta before GvG, and trogzor is good against miracle rogue since it plays so many low impact spells, but miracle rogue got pushed out of the top dog spot when GvG relased, so there was no reason to run trogzor. That said, running a 7 mana card for 1 specific matchup is a tough sell even if that deck is #1.
@dark_rit2 жыл бұрын
About the only good thing about Troggzor in the context of the meta it dodged big game hunter, which was played in almost every deck be it face or control as a 3 mana way to blow up a 7 power minion (usually Dr. Boom.) It could in theory be some good anti spell tool, but it was too slow to accomplish that as when control decks get to 7 mana and beyond they would very likely have tools to answer it and if they did you usually spent your whole turn on a haymaker that did almost nothing.

I think HS cards need context Owl: otk warlock (discounts stuff with weapon) Biscuit: mage has discounts for hand and deck, and banking mana for future can have wery benefitial effect Prayer: otk priest, also they have board aoe card that scales with healing, and max hp is 40 + armor (deathrattle quest) Communion: big druid from past (lots of big minions, draw and ramp), overshadowed with alignment for otk Emryss, trog, varian: dont see them anymore (facehunters and pirate warriors) Ignite: otk mage with minion that tutors fire spells when u cast fire spell and have 2 discount minions (they even baned it in duels) Growth: never seen it even when corrupt came out (i dont play arena) Icehowl: only seen it as random summons Idol: dont realy see it Korrak: i think i saw it once in hunter Maiev: used to see it, not anymore Patches: in every pirate deck (mainly quest pirate warrior) Rhino: beast hunter, i dont really see them (only quest) Smite: every pirate deck (patches is long out by the time this drops on board so still no charge unless quest summons it) Spring: every spell mage Kayn: used to see it, not anymore Tanaris: never see it Defiler: used to see it in wl, druid, not anymore (dont forget, it might be 10 mana but u get bunch of 0 mana taunts and other stuff). Yeah...you were cheating out Humongous Owl with Runed Mithril Rod. And proccing it repeatedly was done with Tamsin's Phylactery. How the OTK works. You get the Owl on to the board (preferably cheating it out with Runed Mithril Rod) and then you kill it the same turn with Grimoire of Sacrifice). On ANOTHER turn, you flood the board with a card called Wicked Shipment, use Tamsin's Phylactery to give all your minions in play a Deathrattle from a friendly minion who died that game (technically you choose among 3, but you probably only have this and a single other Deathrattle in your entire deck), then School Spirits nukes your board and sends out 8 damage 7 times. For added injury, if you use Tamsin Roame the turn of your OTK, you can get another copy of the Phylactery and play it for free, so you can trigger the Deathrattle 14 times.

There is also an otk combo in Shaman if you corrupt a dunk tank and circus medic, play Bolner Hammerbeak, Lightning Bloom, and finally Y'shaarj you will get dunk tanks and circus medics to your hand infinitely by using the circus medics to kill other medics you get infinite dunk tanks to hit the opponents face, a very important card!

Hearthstone is weird that no card stands out on its own. Every card that is broken is only broken because of the support surrounding it. Example being humungeous Owl. That card on its own is dumpster tier trash would never see the light of day. BUT when you give it combo potential AND give warlock insane healing then card the becomes a keystone. Owl is a terrible card outside of its combo and the combo only works because warlock has more healing, draw and discount potential than ever before.

Yeah that’s why I think this like.. guessing how good a Hearthstone card is game doesn’t work as well as the others. The archetypes aren’t very well defined. It’s why Trump changed his entire rating system from “good card” and “bad card” to “good if this thing is viable” You really can’t tell what’s good anymore until somebody builds a deck and sees if it works or not.

The reason charge is not used anymore is because it's actually the most toxic skill draught mechanic ever. There's no way to play around it, there's no set up required and it enables stupid Combos. I quit HS 1 year ago when they released DH as a class because they just refused to hall of fame leeroy. But before charge was also very annoying. Rush is just better design because it's not free face damage

Mana Biscuit is the kind of card that has utility in a lot of Mage decks but will probably never win you the game. Ignite, however, can almost always be infinitely played unless someone has a way to burn your deck and get it out of there, which is a thing a few decks can do currently, mainly Warlock (Tickatus, the unexpected Quest counter)
@panthermonium38452 жыл бұрын
Mana biscuit however is a staple of every single combo mage right now. It is a far stronger card in the most common standard mage deck (mozaki OTK) than ignite is, although the deck still runs 2x ignite.

Just for fun, I want to review each card by myself. I've played Hearthstone and been pretty high up the ladder ever since closed beta - I've almost not played for the last two expansions because the meta's been awful, but I'm pretty knowledgeable of every other point in the meta. Humongous Owl hails from one of the two expansions I've not played for, but I know the OTK it enables was a pretty big deal for at least the week of that expansion's launch. Those decks tend to lose steam as the meta solidifies, though, and Humongous Owl by itself is awful - it's a combo piece that enables one specific other card. Conjure Mana Biscuit has been a solid choice for Mage since it's been out. Other than specific combo decks it's not been a must-run but it still makes sense in tonnes of Mage decks because they tend to reduce the mana cost of their spells (thus making it pure mana gain), and often care about using spells to proc other cards. Desperate Prayer sees play, but exactly for its combo with Xyrella, which reads "Battlecry: Deal damage to all enemy minions equal to Health you've restored this turn". Otherwise it is awful. Astral Communion was a massive meme. I tried to get it to work in every expansion it was legal in and never did. Troggzor was super hyped and then was mediocre. He wasn't bad - which is the narrative these days - but he wasn't good enough to warrant running. I played with him out of curiosity and he was OK. Varian Wrynn is a card I think I've never seen be played except for the one time I got him in an Arena (Draft) run. Dunno what chat's on. Ignite's power level is greatly exaggerated because it feels awful to play against. It's good enough to run, it's not insanely powerful, but it can get you into positions where the opponent can do nothing to you, and that sucks. Celestial Alignment is... weird. It can work, but it doesn't do it consistently enough to see play. Extreme highroll deck, if the stars align you basically can't lose, otherwise you just lose. Horrendous Growth is GOATed in Arena, I don't think I've ever seen one played in Constructed that wasn't randomly generated. You need your cards to do things other than just be big dudes nowadays, and if they're big dudes they need to come out faster than Growth can. Icehowl is awful. Killing one guy by spending that much mana late in the game just doesn't do enough, and the fact that it can't provide pressure means it can only be used as a way too slow defensive tool. Idol of Y'Shaarj is one of the best cards in a bad deck. Big Priest just hasn't worked since this card was introduced - the meta has consistently been way too fast - but Idol is one of the cards that makes you want to play it. Korrak the Bloorager I don't know because he's from the last expansion, which I have barely played. He seemed good in the first week or so when I was trying it out, but the meta was still forming. Maiev Shadowsong was an overhyped Legendary. She's fine, but not good enough to play on purpose. The tempo swing is decent, but you sort of lose it by playing an understated minion, and there's so many better fast answers that deal with the threat rather than putting it off. Patches the Pirate is among the most overpowered cards ever printed. Deck thining, card draw and board presence all in one tiny card. Trampling Rhino is just solid. Hunter always likes hitting enemies in the face, and it helps control the board in the process. It's super good when absorbing hand buffs, and really punishes small minions which are super common. Why choose between trading and going face if you can just do both? Mr. Smite I've not played around with much to know - he's pretty knew. He looks insane to me but apparently hasn't seen crazy amounts of play which I simply can't wrap my head around. Refreshing Spring Water is one of the cards that's currently keeping me from playing the game. Insanely stupid. Mage loves running all-spell decks, reducing the cost of their spells and two reductions (which isn't hard to achieve) makes it negative mana to draw cards. I hate this card with a passion. Kayn Sunfury is strong, but the game is currently not board-centric so his effect isn't worth playing him for. He was really good last rotation cycle though since he disables your opponent's ability to prevent you from hitting them - he got nerfed and still saw decent play. Tanaris Hogchopper is a vanilla 4 mana 4/4 in a game where a 4 mana 4/5 exists and hasn't seen play since Vanilla. Y'Shaarj is good. Some decks are interested in running lots of Corrupt cards naturally and he just makes sense at that point. Has fallen off in the last year because most Corrupt cards focus on board and the game has moved further and further away from board control, but I do think in a board-centric meta he'd pop back up.

Someone already posted stuff like this but going to post my opinion anyway. Would like to point out hearthstone is interesting since it's online only so buffs and nerfs happen and cards fall in and out of favor and wild vs standard vs arena are very different. Owl: Good in Arena, good in OTK, but otk is not very good now so overall card is decent at best. Biscuit: A combo card, mage has (less now) a lot of mana cheat so this could easily gain many instead of being neutral, regardless 0 cost spells are always good if the cards that use them are in use (There is a card that draws for every spell, for mage there is mozaki which gains spell damage +1 every spell etc). Currently wouldn't say that is the case so it is meh. Prayer: As a healing spell, the opponent heal doesn't matter if you are control, wasn't your win con anyway. But as a control card itself it is meh. Its use as a damage spell is also meh, better ways of doing that. It's best use is as a 0 cost spell for combo thanks to the card that draws every spell and priest also has a card that reduces a card in hand by 1 mana for every spell. So you can go crazy. That style of deck for priest is meh right now I think so card itself is meh. Communion: Meme card obviously. Also like someone in chat said Celestial Alignment is just better. Emeriss: Stats don't matter at 10 mana lol ,especially for Hunter. Troggzor: Slow. Varian Wrynn: Only saw play in control warrior for a time. Even then I don't even think it was that good. It worked later in recruit decks which basically filled their deck with big minions and ways to "recruit" them out (recruit just summons from deck) Ignite: Who thought giving mage a card that infinitely repeats itself whilst it being the class with mana cheat and the ability to draw infinitely was a good idea? Past that, the fact the ignites don't count as starting in deck synergies-es so well. Alignment: Druid is the ramp (gains mana early) class. They can play this easily. Card basically means you must play 1 card, then 2 cards, then 3 cards. But since druids can just run mana cheat they don't need to follow that rule and just throw everything out. not sure if it is too good now, haven't played since...last expansion. Growth: Just bad. Even in arena where stats matter. IceHowl: Just a bad card. There are 2 comparisons. A hunter legendary card that is 8/8 beast with charge. Which is just better since the +1/+1 isn't worth the downside. And an epic card with 7/7 (i forgot?) beast with charge, BATTLECRY: cannot attack hero this turn. This epic card is neutral and just is strictly better because beasts are way easier to cheat out and if you can skip the battlecry it can attack directly anyway. Idol: Fucking Big Priest. I love it but hate it. Priest can get away filling their deck with highly powerful effect minions with beefy stats. Which can then just wall your opponent and return the damage. Idol just helps with that by letting you pick one of those minions and summon a copy (you get to keep resources) whilst giving it stats even higher than it might normally be. Also control might want to play it. Depends if priest isn't dead on turn 4 if this is good. Korrak: I don't know lol so I am in duellogs position for this. Seems like a pretty good card, not broken but good value. Maiev: This one is sad, its cool but sucks unless you need it for a combo. Patches: wtf chat? Patches is great. Even after charge was lost just getting a body from deck directly to field is amazing for any aggro deck that can play it. Not broken but definitely great when you can play it. (Refer to my point about how cards fall in or out of favor) Rhino: Yeah if you can get rid of a card that is blocking your damage whilst simultaneously giving extra damage. That is pretty good. Face Hunter is so belligerent it only wants to push damage and doesn't care about anything else and a card that is simultaneously removal and damage is great. Mr Smite: once again in duel logs position, i dont know this card. But immediately...wtf, it is 6 mana but charge? and for pirates? WHY THE FUCK IS IT A PIRATE ITSELF LOL. But seriously probably not overly broken since on 6 mana in aggro you should of killed your opponent anyway and I don't see how you meaningfully cheat this out. Refreshing spring water: Mage has mana cheat, this just gives you mana when it is reduced. Fuck this card. Was nerfed though so I guess it isn't broken now. Kayn: eh, not that useful, silence or literally maeiv work fine or better. Tanaris: I don't even remember this lol. Bad. Y'shaarj: Great in control decks if they can play it, not necessarily the best card but definitely good if conditions are right. God I miss tip the scales paladin though, I loved that deck.

Mozaki mage tends to kill on T7-9 if Mozaki has been drawn, though often T10 if incanter's flow hasn't been drawn. With 2 incanters flow and mozaki it is usually T6, but getting all of those in the top 12 cards is ~10%, top 15 is ~15%, and top 10 is ~5%, so it's not too common that it combos before T7.

Humongous Owl is normally bad because of cost and slowness, but there are ways to cheat out its deathrattle multiple times Conjure Mana Biscuit is good if you anticipate needing the extra two mana on a later turn and can afford to spend two mana doing nothing this turn. If you are playing from behind and need to catch up I usually see it as a dead card. The Mana reduction card mentioned by you chat has proven to be so good that it has been nerfed twice so it now costs 4 mana to play. Desperate prayer used to be a decent card. When it first came out it was able to combo with other priest cards to no only heal your hero but get other advantages. However as new cards came and old cards rotated it became a bad card that doesn't advance your game. Ignite is one of the best cards. Infinite deck that gets more damage. Combined with any draw engines and spell damage increase and it is a nightmare. Celestial Alignmet can be good if you are prepared to start ramping next turn because after you play this 7 mana card you will have 0 mana and every card in your hand will cost 1, while your opponent will get a chance to play one of their discounted cards in hand first, and if they have something big the play could backfire on you. Horrendous Growth was OK. Was a dead card in hand for a while and when summoned it is just a body. If your opponent didn't have an easy way to remove big bodies it was pretty useful. Trampling Rhino is good because hunter has several ways to buff it in deck and revive it.

Icehowl is actually worst than a Rush card because it can never attack heroes. Burly Shovelfist has slightly lower stats but it least it can go face next turn, and that's a common card.

Patches basically garnet, strong card you never want in your hand

Here is how Hearthstone players would rate these cards: Tier 0: Ignite, Patches, Trampling Rhino (not sure, but this card has been in every hunter deck) Tier 1: Mr. Smite, Kayn Sunfury, Y'Shaarj, Refreshing Spring water, Mana Biscuit Tier 2: Humongous Owl, Desperate Prayer, Celestial Alignment, Idol of Y'Shaarj Tier 3: Troggzor, Horrendous Growth, Maiev, Korrak Tier MEME: Astral Communion, Emeriss, Variann Wrynn Not even good in Arena: Ice Howl, Tanaris

Roffle would disagree on Varian. He would put it up at least one tier because of the animation and music.

I wish chat was a little bit better letting you form your own ideas till you ask for the "answer". I do like it a bit more when you have an current player helping you out to know if i card is good or not. That said overall you seem to have a good grip on card games (I mean you do know yugioh very well but its good to see it bleed over to other games too)

I feel a real interesting game to do this for would be TESL as while similar to hearthstone the difference in card philosphy/runes/lanes makes cards that would seem OP useless and cards that would seem bad amazing. If any I'd like to ask Hearthstone players how good would this card be: _6 Cost 3/3 you can summon minions from your graveyard with less power than this card_

A card like this couldn't exist in HS. It would have to be: "6 mana, 3/3. Summon all friendly minions that died this game that had less original attack than this minion." Something like that. HS doesn't have a graveyard; the effect would probably be malleable because there are cards that can change the atack and health of minions in your hand. But it probably wouldn't be very good, resurrect mechanics are already hard to play because of how slow they are. To add restrictions based on attack would make this card essentially unplayable. If it was a neutral card it would probably see some niche play in Murloc Shaman, which are small, highly synergystic minions. But if it was a priest card, as most cards with resurrect effects are, it would be absolute garbage. EDIT: It would also (as a neutral card) see play, most effectively, in Pirate Warrior and maybe Deathrattle Rogue or Priest. But it would be a "Hail Mary" card. Which are not commonly used in HS, people tend to play win-more cards, insane board control AOE's or OTK's. And most games don't make it to turn 8

@@angelandreehernandezbojali8492 This highlights how different TESL and Hearthstone are from one another. The card I just mentioned is Odirniran Necromancer with that exact effect in TESL it's an absolute staple for any control deck or deck that uses his color and wants to go on a bit longer. This can be attributed to TESL having lots of good 1-2 atk creatures but an important one is "Battle Cries" or "Summon" in TESL's case trigger no matter how a creature is summoned on the board, combine that with there being less removal in TESL and how Rune system(draw a card the first time you reach 25, 20,15, 10, 5 HP) and having 30HP with no health cap just makes TESL a good ~4 turns slower than Hearthstone across the board and one of the only CCGs where life gain is very powerful.
