There’s still a possible ftk with it. It’s much less consistent though. But it can basically summon any extra deck monster you want if you have enough lifepoints.

I’m surprised when they decided to destroy the Scientist Deck, Last Will was kept at 3. I would love to see the story of Last Will’s competitive history.

Believe me, it was only ever used in bs decks. Activate Last Will, normal summon Exiled Force, priority use Exiled Force, Last Will for Cyber Stein is just one example. It also works with Rescue Cat. It can trigger off of Cat AND it can summon Cat. Nothing strong working with Rescue Cat is ever a good sign.

I remember when this came out. I actually splashed (pun intended) magical scientist into my water deck back then. At the time chaos was still very strong and my deck could hold its own and even win several tournaments. My thought process was I already had a solid deck. Scientist just gave me another arrow in my quiver. Unlike the traditional magical scientist deck which went all in on the ftk. It was too gimmicky and unreliable percentage wise. I was already running mother grizzly in my deck so it was as simple as adding 1 scientist and 1 catapult turtle. As long as they attacked a grizzly I could special summon turtle and normal summon scientist easy enough on my turn.

magical scientist is a good example of the difference between causal classic yugioh and competive casual yugioh. classic yugoh was prone to creating horrible to play against decks due to the questionable cards printed by an easier to make mistake

Re; initial discovery in Japan, that's right... IIRC It was a guy called Edo Hrzic who did translations and JPN meta reports that kinda broke news of it in the western world. If you were super online you had a huge advantage in the first few weeks after the release of the set.

I'll never forget Magical Scientist FTK! Its the main reason I, and many duelist at the time, mained Ring of Destruction and Barrel Behind the Door! Now, admittedly, I did run a mini Magical Scientist engine to run Dark Flare with Mirage Knight to get over huge obstacles my opponent threw at me. Not a huge game changer, but enough to get by!

The only way that Scientist could come back is if they gave him a HOPT and even that it's still too good because he can be a one card Synchro/XYZ/Link summon.

Even without the FTK, Scientist is still beyond broken. Another combo involves him, Spirit Reaper, Creature Swap and Dark Flare Knight. Swap over Reaper, summon Scientist and proceed the smack the shit out Reaper woth three Dark Flare Knights and your opponent's Monster. That's a minimum of 5800 worth damage. Another tine I remember bringing out Giltia the D. Knight, Morphing him into another one and boom got the Light I needed to bring out BLS. Once he does his damage, just Morph him into TER.

Fun fact. Despite Kaiba's most powerful monster being Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, he has never technically won a duel with it. -Kaiba vs. Yugi 2 (Duelist Kingdom): Kaiba would have lost is Yugi didn't surrender -Kaiba/Yugi vs. Noa: Yugi took over the duel, who defused blue eyes Ultimate Dragon to win the duel -Kaibaman vs. Jaden: Again, defusion was used to win the duel -Kaiba vs. Atem (D.S.o.D): It's a hologram.

For all the people that say a once per turn would be TOO harsh, here is an alternative: You can only special summon Fusion monsters from the Extra deck the turn you use the effect Your opponent takes no damage that turn. No FTKs or super combos possible anymore. Still great to break boards going second in fusion-dedicated decks.

The best FTK was the second rendition of the OCG Exodia deck. It ran two copies of every piece of Exodia, three copies of Pot of Greed and Graceful Charity. And Sangan/Witch were both broken on release. They gave you their search if they just went to the graveyard from anywhere. So you would discard Sangan or Witch using Graceful Charity, letting you draw 3 cards and get a free piece of Exodia. The OCG Exodia deck was actually the deck that caused the very first banlist. It was genuinely impossible to beat the deck.

In Yugioh Ultimate master duel 2006 Last Will effect will trigger after you end your turn. Also the game is well known for "decking" and "cheating" you. Edit: My ass is so stupid and low IQ. You are suppose to click on your deck after you met all of the Last Will's effect. I originally thought you wait till THE END OF YOUR TURN. Also when the AI uses Last Will they get to special summon at the end of their turn regardless if they did or met the requirement.

Apparently that card is oddly popular in current Goat because of a deck only slightly less degenerate in Panda Burn, a deck who basically stuns you with level limit and Ojamas while beating you with the piercing panda with more attack than Blue-Eyes, who is not affected by level limit, and burning you with just desserts, barrel and similar burn traps.
