How is Goodwin evil? I missed that memo. As far as I remember he's fighting against the Dark Signers. I just assumed he lost to the leader of the Dark Signers due to some outside trick to get him to lose on purpose (like Zane lost on purpose against Camula to save Syrus) and passed on his mark to Yusei whose mark went to Crow. And due to him not returning explains his absence in the rest of the series.

I wish Sayer and Akiza had had a duel. It would’ve been a great way for Akiza to get closure. Here’s how I’d do the duel. As Sayer knows Akiza better than most, I’d have Akiza get the upper hand at first, but Sayer then pushes Akiza to make her angry, leading to Sayer getting the upper hand in the duel. Just as Akiza is about to snap and use her powers, she manages to calm down and then beat Sayer.
