For the curious, and a follow-up to a previous comment... Akiza's Rose Curse trap at the end of this duel is activated only when the attack points of an opponent's monster is altered by any means. The damage dealt is the difference between the previous attack points and current attack points of that monster. Since the Black Rose Dragon used its special ability (Black Binding Bloom, I think...) to zero out the Mad Profiler's attack, Koda loses 2600 life points (2600 - 0) and the duel.

A couple of things i want to point out. 1, Never underestimate the red dorm, people have done that with Jaden Yuki in the GX series and look what happened there. 2, when the guy said "We've got her energy! I can pay my student loan" when Akiza's mark appeared, that sounded wrong for a few reasons i hope i don't need to explain why. 3, Don't assume you know a person's true intentions from their past actions. You don't know what their real intentions really are.

Honestly I liked this guy, he has a point. Sure he's ultimately wrong but, it makes sense and the fact he suffers to reach his goal is pretty cool. This duel is pretty good overall, it's pretty decent with showing us the plight of this man. To show why people think she's a monster and when she says, I'll respond with a monster of my own was pretty symbolic.

But the more people kept giving kept being cruel to her, the more it drove her to exude her hurt towards people. It's like if you don't provoke someone, you don't get the wrath of somebody, and I don't care what nobody says. Koda pretty much labeled Akiza as a criminal, and for what?! She didn't do anything wrong, and it just goes to show that when you don't get the facts on something or someone, your narrow-mindedness will eventually hurt you in the end. People who want to help other people wouldn't treat them like a menace to society, and the only reason why Akiza replied with "So all I can do is respond with a monster of my own," wasn't only to fight fire with fire in terms of the duel, but to symbolize that she wasn't going to let him bully her around. He really had no good goal in mind to help her; just playing a crappy game of "good cop & bad cop," and it seems like the only one who REALLY wanted to help her was Yusei--not because he likes her (which I don't care what people say, he does but just won't admit it), but because he knows how it feels to be ostracized by society.

Koda is a profiler, so what would he say about the personalities of Yusei, Jack, Crow, Leo and Luna from the Cards of their Decks ? In an one versus one Duel with each of them, obviously....I would be very curious to know his diagnosis!

I assume Koda would label Yusei a tinkerer and over thinker who suffers from paralysis by analysis. Yusei has too many different tuners and support cards that are level 2 in order to play specific combinations. He can get stuck in one pattern of thought as a result and needed to learn clear mind. Jack an angry kid who suffers from insecurity and needs to dominate others to feel strong. Jack is an aggressive offensive duelist with high attack cards and spells that deal damage. Jack's childhood in Satellite and his desperation to be in New Domino made him angry. Crow a lonely kid who desperately clings to any and all relationships preventing him from choosing his own path. It's hypothetically possible for Akiza to have overlapped with Jaden in time at Duel Academy. Although Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's was said to take place in the distant Yu-Gi-Oh! future when it premiered, an official Word-of-God timeline was never released (as far as I know), and if that holds true to this day, then Akiza looks to have been at least a few years younger than she is in this episode in the flashbacks to her time at Duel Academy, so she might well have been one of the younger students, one of the unnamed female Slifer Red students you occasionally see in the background in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX that is never focused on as a character (and there are a lot of background students that appear and vanish according to the needs of the plot(s)) in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Since Duel Acadmey is set on a far-off island from the mainland, it was probably too far away to be affected by Zero Reverse. I think Rua and Ruka (the Japanese names of Leo and Luna) and their friends in a later episode attend a Duel Academy branch on the mainland, so Seto Kaiba probably did expand the school, if he ever came back from his hacked trip to the afterlife to duel Atem. You gotta give Kaiba this at least - he's stop at nothing - not the coasts of Japan, not the disaster of Zero reverse, not the repeated defeats at the hands of villains or rivals, nor the boundary between the dimensions or realms of the living or dead, in the name of lifting up his ego.

I know the duel academy’s teach you how to duel and I know that’s not all they teach, but I’m almost 100% sure that not everyone that attends is going to be a pro-paid duelist and would probably go on to do other things. Actually probably everyone does but dueling seems like a pro sport in these universes.
