This is where a lot of people lost interest in SAO. The threat of in game death meaning irl death is gone, lots of people felt the stakes were no longer interesting. I still think it was enjoyable, especially in the latter seasons.

his coords merged with the game so it spat him somewhere else as his data was being re-integrated with the cardinal system.

Imagine this WoW analogy: - some company copies over the server data from blizzard's Warlords of Draenor expansion but makes their server run on Burning Crusade (outdated Cardinal system). - you log into this, set the same name for your character and join the world. You were in Draenor when the copy happened. - the game tries to place you in Draenor, which doesn't exist. It then does the next best thing and places you in Outlands (lore-wise what Draenor becomes after some catastrophe) but you somehow keep your levels and unlocked skills. - you're now in a lvl 70 zone (with 70 being the cap) with a lvl 100 character. Sure, your items were all incompatible with this version, so you're in starter gear ... but all your passive level bonuses still outclass everyone. Ofc, this ain't the best way to put it ... But it's my interpretation of events.

bet the several hundred people who died are very happy that kirito saved an AI he most likely could have rebuilt instead of turning the log off button back on. imagine how many people would be mad at him if they knew he had access to the admin level console and chose to save an AI and then later become the hero that saved them all. dude would have been shanked in the streets after people found out who he was in real life. which isnt hard as the its just looking for him.

@@dylangerber5163 send a message to every player that isnt the admin that he turned it back on and around a thousand or so would logoff before he notices it. i mean if he can code entire lines to make a new item that can store yui then store yui in said item then transfer it to his nervegear in the span of like 10 seconds he has enough time to turn on the log off button and message to everyone you can now log off. he was typing like 100 words a second if he could do all of what he did. and this would have been easier.
