Yuja, 7 years old (?), plays Chopin, Concerto 2, 1st mvmt

Here's a find that I hope will delight all Yuja fans: the first movement of Chopin's Second Concerto, which she played at the age of... 7 years old, according to the date indicated by the Chinese TV. But as someone pointed out to me, it's likely that she was older at the time (around 10 years). In any case, the result is magnificent!
The picture is mediocre, and so is the sound (and the synchronization isn't ideal). But here's further proof that for Yuja, playing the piano is more natural than breathing...

I've played for many years and I sat back and watched that with awe. Simply extraordinary! Especially when you understand the difficulties. I saw and met her in 2008 or 2009 right out of Curtis and she did things that were astonishing. She played "Flight of the Bumblebee" chromatics in double octaves so blazing fast that even Horowitz would have been struck by it. She was ever smiling and nice as can be. It was unforgettable.

Ah, you have to look! To tell the truth, I went to Chinese websites by Googling, in Chinese, "Yuja Wang, Chopin". I was actually looking to see if her 2023 recital in China, where she played Chopin's Fourth Ballade, had been recorded. I think not. In any case, I couldn't find anything. On the other hand, I came across a site that contained several videos of Yuja in China, including this one... I then had to extract it from the site, add the score, etc.,It was a bit complicated. But I'm proud of my find! Thank you for your interest!

The date was clearly indicated, all along the video, not by me, of course, but by the Chinese television. We should therefore assume that it is mistaken? That would be very strange.

It is a bit questionable, given that she had only started to play piano at age six, this is hard to convince even for a musical genius. The digital date display on the video screen could be off from the actual filming date if not set up right, or not setup at all. It was not uncommon that this happened back then in a Chinese context. (Very sorry for the mulfunctioning of my device and the multiple postings earlier.)

@@PS-kd1if You may be right, although it would be surprising if such a precise date (day, month, year) were (deliberately?) wrong. On the other hand, look at Yuja at the very end, when she bows: if she is perhaps more than seven years old, she can't be much more than eight...

eusebiusetflorestan2532 Point taken. Meanwhile, check out the video about her piano playing from 8 to 36 years old, entitled “Yuja Wang/Through the Years: Ages 8~36” on KZbin. In that video, there is no record of her playing at 7, and when she was playing at 8 and 9, she looked younger than “7 years old” as claimed in this video. In fact, in the other video, her feet could barely reach the pedals at age 9, while in this video, she was reaching the pedals more than comfortably, which leads me to believe that she, in this video, should be no younger than 10 year old. And why this video has this presumably wrong claim of her age would probably remain a mystery.

@eusebiusetflorestan2532 Interestingly, I just viewed again the video I mentioned in my last post, and noticed that, when she was playing at age 11, her hairstyle and the costume resembled those in this video. So a good possibility is that Yuja Wang in this video was likely about 11 years old.
