Yes, sex does sell! The down side is it has a tendency to cheapen and degrade at the same time. Pianists such as Yuja Wang and Lang Lang (and Khatia Buniatishvili) seem to be on the same page with regard to their presentation in classical music. One the one hand it is a fabulously tawdry trick to bring in a larger audience, but on the other I suspect most of THAT audience wouldn't even consider coming to their concerts if they weren't so salacious in their presentations.
