Yuki Sohma, one of character that really fast pace evolving character... just his character really keep moving forward, when he being dragged down... i like his character so much... Yuki Sohma, that always observe, he know that he weak admitted and try to chnge the weakness being hopeful and strive foward eventhough he know he is weak, he also have a kindness that make other want to change.... i mean isnt he lovely?

Yuki is truly such a beautiful character. While kyo and everyone else thought that he had everything he wanted for being the rat, he really didn't. He didn't have a loving family, he didn't have the friends he's always wanted and when he almost did have frnds they were taken away from him. He was hated by alot of people just because he was the rat, there was nothing about him that people wanted to love. But he pushed through.he grew. He lifted himself and fought his own battles and he stood tall. And I feel so proud to say that he found himself in the end, and along with himself he found his family and friends and he doesn't need to be alone anymore ;-; I might get some hate for saying this idk but it's just my opinion so no offence guys, but kyo was never alone. He had kazuma and even with the confusion he had kagura and everyone else were his frnds. So I never once felt bad for kyo (in that context that is). But Yuki literally had noone, noone to help him and watch him grow. He had to do it all himself and he still did. And thats my beautiful boy T^T I love him so much 🥺💕

I started to watch this anime when i saw kyo-tohru love scene on youtube. But without me realising, the more i watched this anime, the more i fell in love with yuki. I loved him more than kyo and tohru. The more he developed as a character, the more i love him. He is the most progressive character in this anime so imo he is the best character. When i read the manga till end, i felt so happy for him *spoiler alert* 1) he found the mother's love he had always wanted (tohru) 2) he found the best friend he had always wanted (kakeru) 3) he found a girl who would understand him and appreciate his realself. Who gave him the feel of being needed by sm1 which he had always wanted. He became her light (machi) He progressed frm a weak child to a man who would work really hard to improve himself, who is really kind to the extent where he didnt even wnt to blame others for the torture he went through Not even once i found him boring. Eventhough i hv always liked the guy anime characters who looks calm and looks like gentleman(like yuki) i still felt like the reason i loved him was more than jst that. it was bcuz of his personality

Fr...and they hate him for his behaviours with Kyo while completely ignoring the fact that Kyo was the one who blamed Yuki for his own sufferings which gradually made Yuki hate him too even though he admired him (I'm not hating on Kyo btw since it's understandable why he'd do that but those people hating on Yuki cz of this is just so weird). I think they also think he's boring just cause he's calm unlike Kyo. Like compare Kyo & Yuki's personalities and you'll find that Yuki is more "boring" cause he's calm & keeps to himself etc etc (this is just what I think though...I could be wrong).

And what you said is true. Even for Ayame, it was already told that Yuki didn't hate him or smth and if you just look at it, it seems more like how most siblings act. For Manabe, it literally is similar, just how many friends act with each either. I mean, both of them were also similar (the way he was reminded of Ayame the first time he saw Manabe too💀). Tbh it seems to me that they just find smth to hate him, no matter how ridiculous it seems.

​​​@@Meh_05i've said this before but i'll say it again. kyo is so overrated by the fandom with the fact that he is the main love interest of tohru and ofc, anime ppl with their "tsundere" type of enjoyable character. but when it comes to character writing, there are far better characters than him like momiji or even haru. like i expected kyo to be my fav character in furuba coz of the fandom's hype but even in s1, i can already tell that i can't put him to the same level of yuki's character. yuki is the best written character in furuba no matter how ppl deny it. i'm not saying this coz of shipping purposes like i'm even annoyed by ppl whenever they drag yuki with kyoru's affairs like "yuki didn't understand or know tohru than kyo", "kyo notice things about tohru unlike yuki", "yuki's moves with tohru makes her uncomfortable unlike kyo", "yuki and tohru don't have chemistry unlike with kyo" blah blah like sorry to tell y'all shippers freaks but yuki never felt romantic with tohru. it was intentional coz the author's inspiration before writing furuba was yuki and tohru's platonic dynamic. kyoru's the main ship even before. don't drag yuki into this shipping shi. there's no competition between yuki and kyo when it comes to tohru. if so, it's momiji y'all should be worried about lol. yuki's development highlighted his separation and being independent without tohru while kyo's was more attached to him being a love interest to tohru. that's why yuki is the best coz he can stand as a complete character even without machi or tohru as a love interest. and into my eyes, kyo will forever be seen as just a love interest. he's not even in my top 3 characters in furuba. and i'm so relieved that the author admitted that yuki is the second protagonist next to tohru coz like let's be real. yuki's contribution can bring half of the theme of furuba. i didn't even care about the romantic undertones in furuba. kyoru has the best development but they're one of the typical couple dynamic out there. haru and rin seems more interesting imo. yuki's development was more interesting than i expected and till now i can keep saying yuki is the best character in furuba.

Yes me too! I honestly liked him more than Kyo and Tohru. Tho we wouldn't have gotten to see his development if not for Tohru and that's why I appreciate her. I also love their relationship so much! People call it a stretch but I think the fact that Yuki only thinks of Tohru as a caring figure was subtly hinted at many times throughout the first two seasons, and I love their deep care for each other without any romantic intention even more. The author also said that Yuki is actually a main character along with Tohru! and not Kyo! I think that makes so much sense because his development is the most fleshed out compared to all other characters including Kyo. I really would kill for a movie focusing on Yuki and Machi 😭 they are beautiful together ❤

I relate to you so much, that I even feel bad for him but that's also feeling sorry for myself. Yuki is such a relatable character for me, in the first fruit basket it was cheerful and everything was kinda okay back then in my life. Years later things became worse for me and up in till 2019 when I heard the re-new of the fruit basket I couldn't believe it. Then in this renew they show more sides of each character, it's crazy and inspiring. Every time I watch fruit basket, I can't help but get emotional because the words, the story, are what I wish to say, and kinda relate to what I have been through and I'm going through. Yuki deserves a lot and this anime makes me feel like I'm not alone. I'm a basket forever, love this edit by the way! made me tear up.

His backstory is one of the saddest back story. His mom, brother, kyo, Akito even the freaking mirror rejected my guy. If I were in his option I would've given up but he was so strong even the world rejected him he didn't give up and continued to live. And finally got all the love he deserved at the end. ;-;

the very first thing i didn't like about fruits basket was making yuki's mother redeemable. guys, she's literally the major reason why yuki dealt with his trauma. unlike momiji and kyo's mother, they dealt with the trauma of having a zodiac children while all she dealt with was the problem about her finances. i didn't like how the author made her image into just nagging spoiled mother in the parent's conference and her giving advice to yuki to not soak himself with his phone as a sign of "care". sorry yuki's trauma was too much than her bare minimum motherly lectures.
