He has consistently finished around the top 10. Lawson's results have been very inconsistent. Head to head against Lawson over the last 6 races: Yuki - average finishing position of 12.5, 6-0 in qualifying, 8 points scored. Lawson - average finishing position of 13.5, 0-6 in qualifying, 4 points scored. Absolute joke. Remember that Albon and Gasly were much more prepared than Lawson is, and they got dumped after 5 races. In my personal opinion, it's not going to go well.

excuses like inconsistency, temper on the radio, crashes. All typical traits of a rookie and developing driver as he progresses. Liam didn’t throw a fit on the radio??? He had issue with Alonso and Perez. Also Don’t forget in Yuki’s debut he scored points even more than Bearman in a much inferior car and they boast Bearman debut like he is the next boy wonder. Not saying Yuki will ever be like Senna or Max but clearly he is marginalized. Yuki has been affirmatively improving his driver personality and on interviews and on the radio he always praises and appreciates his team for their efforts. Typical glass ceiling for the Asian minority. Horner clearly showed his empire/imperialist mindset right from the start. Hope Yuki goes to AM and with Honda power gets sweet justice and shove it down Horner’s lying, racist and sexual harassing throat !

With regards to Lawson’s sincere thanks to Red Bull and having dreamed about being a Red Bull driver since the age of eight, he needs to take a serious deep breath. Not sure why everyone is ignoring the fact he's not a redbull academy driver, he's a Honda driver. Why on earth would they sign him for 1 season instead of signing someone they can developed over years.
@dylanadams1455Ай бұрын
thank you! That and the fact that as good as he is, Yuki was pushed on them as part of the Honda deal, over other RB Academy drivers. Even though he has proved his talent, the fact that they didn't choose for him to come in but was foisted upon them in order to get the Honda engine, that will always be a factor. Also Liam is really level headed. They want someone who can be consistent, just tick away with steady points every race and play the team game instead of yelling at his engineers.

@ColinKinross-v2nАй бұрын
Your obvious bais comes through when you say Yuki out performed Lawson which if we are to believe Horner instead says Lawson out performed granted not a lot but when you say a driver had 11 races against one who has been there for 4 years well. That would prove that Lawson given the same time would out perform Yuki given the same time behind the wheel. Better to not over state a case and wait till we see what transpires on the track in 2025 then do a comparitive.
@aggeosАй бұрын
It is simple, RedBull is looking for disposable driver next to max, and someone that will blindly obey orders for more stupid that they are. Put a novice and you can blame the results to the driver because he is a "novice". Also Yuki already knows how is RedBull from the inside therefore he can shield himself like checo did, Lawson is a rookie and sadly for him, he is just going to be used and disposed of, like all the companions of max.

Yuki is more likely to crash into max, thats the ONLY reason they picked Lawson other than the obvious "hes a decent driver" thought... They need a CERTIFIED 2nd driver, not a Rival. I'm not saying Yuki would beat max, I'm saying Yuki is 100x more aggressive than Lawson off but more importantly on track, which in turn would make things a lot harder for max to hold onto that championship next year They only sacked Perez because he fell below that "decent driver" standard, before then he was their "b1tch driver"

I wish this would just stop. You know Yuki has Honda ties. RB is going to use their own engine in 26 so they would have to drop Yuki. They're looking long term here. Yuki to Aston makes sense because Honda will be working with Aston.

The thing we have to understand is that 2nd Red Bull seat is a disposable seat. Red Bull wants Yuki and doesn't want to dispose of him if he fails and most will fail next to Max!. Thats my humble opinion.

I guess you are still stuck in the empire /imperialist world. Let's see. RB did something similar to Sainz when they promoted Verstappen and they were right. i think he remembers the good ol days with Vettel and hopes Lawson will be the next Vettel. Its a tough ask, first season in F1 right next to a 4 time world champion. If he can try and keep in the top 6 and a few podiums.....he might be alright for a couple years. Hopefully he improves and by 2027 goes for it.
