This was a perfect realistic dish. Fried rice is extremely flexible with ingredients. You can put an leftovers or an array of ingredients and it would still taste good. To top it of this was the first fish Soma learned. Good way to also bring it full circle. Wish for better closure in the end though. May be an OVA?

Joichiro himself said that Soma is no prodigy, it's in fact, Erina who is a prodigy. Souma is more like Shinomiya, both are from middle class families. Both dedicated their cooking to their mothers, because it's not Joichiro who inspired Souma to cook but it's because his mother liked his father's cooking, he wanted to make something for his mom. So, when his mom said that she still prefers his father's cooking is what made Souma dedicate himself in cooking in hopes of surpassing his dad and which he finally did when he defeated Asahi. And, both went on to become world famous chefs.

The manga was a letdown. I struggled to watch the final season. Everything is quite repetitive after a while and its lack luster and predictable battles. I think it should of ended after the 3rd or 4th plate. In the end he said he was going to become the best from the first season and beat his dad. In the end he just becomes the same as his dad a travelling chef and never battles him but beats him indirectly via Saiba.

@Jon Doe it wasn't even the author's fault. Blame the publishers because they wanted to rush the ending and MADE the author go this way. He still did it a little mildly I suppose, now reading the situation but it could've been worse imo. The author also had released three extra chapters called "le dessert" with more details that the anime didn't cover all the way. I've kept saying since the end of the manga that they should make a film like Naruto The Last Movie and finalize erina and Soma's relationship like with naruto and hinata.

The turkish cuisine changed from lamb to pilaf somehow, and even if lamb was in the rice, the judges would have tasted the lamb flavor, but nobody even mentioned anything about lamb, not even the god tongue mana.

And if you have eaten lamb before, you know how intense and gamey lamb can taste, so it would stand out more than the pork if its in the pilaf.

Besides, his Bouef mayonnaise (could spelled wrong) is the key of holding those smell together in the grain of rice. The lamb isn't mentioned as it is considered as another Turkish ingredient to cook with the pilaf. The Dongpo Pork was later add on and stir-fried together, not with the start.
