Yukio Mishima even haven't been into military, so why did he tell such things? War is always destroying for a country, and especially to men. Gay men as him, especially. On the global scale, military as an institution can and should be replaced by something different. Police or sports club only for men. Compulsory attending to sports clubs for men, making them professionalists in sports would stop taking their lifes back in a nonsense wars, will help them making fit and economy would makes more money.

He barely passed his conscription examination on 16 May 1944, with a less desirable rating of "second class" conscript because of his physical health. Which meant he could have been into millitary, but he didn't fight. And Yukio got married, how can you consider him gay through his books ?
