They say that in order to amend Yukon to province hood, we have to give up our name. In fact, our state initials "YT" can still mean the "Yukon Territory". That's what the people want. They say that we're too small to become a province with a population of under 12,000. But that's not true, because the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI) entered the confederation with a population of around 10,000. They say territories north of the 60th parallel aren't allowed to amend province hood. But that's not true, because Labrador and Quebec have large territories that cross the 60th. YUKON PROVINCE NOW!

12 000 was a large population at that time if nb had only 12000 people today it wouldn't be a province
