Basically, when the verb is an u-verb, the vowel is changed into お in the hiragana ladder and pronounced as long o. 行く (iku) becomes 行こう (ikou), 飲む (nomu) becomes 飲もう (nomou), 帰る (kaeru) becomes 帰ろう (kaerou). When the verb is a ru-verb, the る is dropped and replaced with よう. つける (to turn on something) becomes つけよう, 開ける (akeru- to open smth) becomes 開けよう (akeyou), 見る becomes 見よう. Then for irregular verb する becomes しよう.
