This is the first video of yours that I have watched. I FINALLY get ageru, morau, kureru!! The way you explained this was awesome, especially your mnemonics and analogies. You're surely a legit teacher when you can get your students to understand through visualising like you did. Thanks heaps. :)

Wow, can't believe this. Studying Japanese as my major in college, had trouble with this even though having the teachers and the books explaining it. And here I am, watching one video and feeling like I finally understood it. 本当にありがとうごさいます🙈🤗

偶然このチャンネルを見つけましたが、知らなかった日本語の法則が分かって面白かったです!普段なにも考えずに使っている日本語を「外側」から見るのは非常に新鮮でした! I found this channel by chance, and all videos are interesting because I found features of Japanese language which I didn't know. I can use Japanese withont thinking because Japanese is my mothertongue, but which make it more refreshing to observe rules of Japanese language. 我偶然发现了这个频道,所有的视频都很有趣,因为我发现了我不知道的日语功能。 我可以不假思索地使用日语,因为日语是我的母语,但这使得分析日语规则更令人耳目一新。

This reminds me when I was speaking with a little girl who was learning my mother language (brazilian portuguese) and she asked me "what is the difference between 'perguntar'(ask) and 'pedir'(ask)" and it took me a while to answer her because in portuguese these two are really diffferent but in english they are the same. Languages are really interesting

i learned about "kureru" from Haikyuu when Oikawa told Iwaizumi "Sono unko yarou-tte no yamete kureru?!" i guess it has the same context as the simple form "kureru" you just taught to us in this video, as in my understanding "-te form verb" + "kureru" would mean "TO DO something FOR ME". while "kureru" alone would mean "somebody giving me/us something". Japanese grammar is really interesting!
Outstanding helpful explanation, spoken so clearly for learners. Thank you.

Thanks for this. Your positive attitude is always inspiring. I’m looking forward to two more related videos - 1. Using those words in combination with ...te form of verbs. Which verbs are most typically combined? And 2. What is the distinction of using “morau”. I feel it is not really that similar to “receive” in English. I’ve heard that “morau” is sometimes implying convincing someone to do something for you or shows more appreciation of the act than “kureru” Please create more on this as it remains challenging for me in the ...te combinations. よろしくおねがいしいます。
Muito obrigada por se esforçar para nos ensinar com tantos exemplos... Adorei!

Sometimes i still get confused on the に part and てあげる/もらう/くれる parts so thank you for this😁 Also,in our country there is no White Day. Everyone just gives their present on Valentine's Day so you'll know immediately who gives and receives and may be a couple. Then for a lot of years now I just give something to my sister or mom something for valentine's then treat myself to a "solo date"🤣

When I was first learning this concept, I wrote "あげる" with an arrow going out on one arm, and "くれる" with an arrow going inward on the other arm, in an attempt to remember it. I'm honestly not sure it helped, but the "I give you" is hilarious, I'm sure I'll remember that.
