The Haunting of Whitehall Manor sounds so interesting! I have never heard of it! It could be a great pick for your Bookclub but I’ll try anything. I’m gearing up for more gothic this winter. I have neglected it for the second half of 2024!

I just finished A Winter Haunting by Dan Simmons today. Totally works as a stand alone. I enjoyed it! But since you have Summer of Night, you’d probably read that one first. A Winter Haunting and A Summer of Night both have the same main character - he’s a kid in Summer of Night and an adult in his 50s in A Winter Haunting. Again, you could read either as a stand alone

Hi Lizzie, greetings again from Toronto. I’m glad to see you’re finding more ways to relax! The horror Trivial Pursuit sounds very cool. And it looks like you’ve getting very organised. A Winter Haunting looks interesting. I read Summer of Night aeons ago when I was in my 20s; maybe I’ll read it again first. I’m glad to see Charles L Grant back in publication. He was one of the premier writers of ‘quiet horror’. An amazing talent. Quite a prodigious anthologist as well. Have a great New Year’s and good reading to you in 2025.

As a voice actress, I bought one years ago and I will warn you a blue Yeti will pick up every noise in the room it's in unless it's properly treated with the foam or panels to reduce echos and vibrations, I upgraded to a RØDE NT1 5th Generation Large-diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone... It's an OK microphone to use for a while though 😊 I hope this helps

I feel like many of us could use some cozy relaxation time; own it my friend. I love that background you put up behind the books. Boys in the Valley sounds interesting, but I can imagine what the difficult subject matter. Botanical and gardens seem to be seeping into gothic in more recent times. Sarah Waters, that name is very familiar to me. I love that cover for The Wicked Cometh! I've seen Lalesedge about and have heard the same things about, I think there's a follow-up or sequel out there too. Loving all the gothic-ee books! I apologize for the long comment here.
