I just can't believe what I'm hearing. Her pedal work is truly transcendental, amongst all the other superlative elements in her Chopin. It's just so wonderful to be able to access this level of artistry.

Stunning. Another absolutely classy and gorgeous performance by Yulianna Avdeeva. I'm blown away by the music she creates: seemless, flowing, sensitive. I admire that she has such confidence to allow her performance of the music speak for itself and that she has no need for hystrionics. Her transitions between sections is unlike anything I've ever heard! She doesn't stop the motion to make a random point, she carries on, and carries it forward and lets the music flow seemlessly in one motion and composition. Each movement is magnificently played. One of my favorite performances of this piece! Thank you for sharing this.

I was just about to try to express the same reaction to what you have said above better than I had hope to. Yulianna literally immersed me in her playing of the E-Minor Concerto else where on KZbin!

WOW! This is dramatic and athletic Chopin, not Chopin for the salon but Chopin the passionate romantic. Ms. Abdeeva’s sense of timing gives the music great tensile strength; yet it breathes. The Largo isn't dreamy and moonlit; instead, it has barely contained drama and turmoil; it is tremendously exciting. The finale sparkles, but there's genius in the execution and timing of all those scales. Ms. Abeeva gives them emotional import with that timing and with emphasis on certain notes. The climax is a real stomach-clincher. I’ve only been aware of, and a fan of, Ms. Abdeeva’s playing for about a year; she is now on my short list of favorite pianists--no, make that favorite musicians.

Tears in your eyes? Me too!!! Or Schubert, Schumann or Chopin, it is so lived through and through! She lets speak the composer himselves, uncompromising. All superfluous is banished! Once I hope to be able to buy the complete works of Frederic Chopin, played by Yulianna Avdeeva!

I agree! Compared with hers, interpretations of many top pianists sound soulless or misconceived.

@@marekczekanski1598 I have the impression, many top pianists outside Yulianna should stop playing. But she self has said it is beautiful there are so many different interpretations. Sure there are also bad ones, you can hear this straight away. But we should stop comparing. Every person who are interpreting well has a right to be heard. We can adjust our ears to who are playing.

She achieved the best of the interpretation that there could be of Chopin today. Regardless of the technicalities that may compromise the idea of spotless performance in the mind of the audience, the unique quality that her renditions deliver, with no doubt owing to her long-run research into the footprints of the artist that became the object of her study, is an asset worth a permanent remark regarding our understanding of the pieces that Chopin has left behind himself.

Weak playing (first movement, exposition). No "maestoso" in main party, no flying in secondary. Just "womens'" playing, fussy and sometimes partly hysterics. Too great task for her in this Sonata.
