What a groove! The song was written in 1976. You can experience the exact view by driving down east to west the Chuo Freeway (E20 Chuo Expressway) at Tokyo. The airport is "Chofu Airport" and the horse-race track is now called "JRA Tokyo Keibajo". Here is my translation of the lyrics. Chuo Freeway Song and Lyrics by Yumi Arai Drivin’ Chuo Freeway Passin’ by the small airfield Headin’ toward the mountains The hues of twilight spread across our windshield Chuo Freeway Grippin’ the wheel with one hand Holdin’ my shoulder with the other arm You say you love me but I can’t hear well Cause the wind is too strong The city lights start twinkling Flyin’ down the road we feel we are shooting stars Chuo Freeway On the right we see the horse-race track On the left is the big beer brewery This is a runway taking us to the night sky Chuo Freeway When we began we used to drive down every day But you act a little aloof these days Why won’t you drive me home? The city lights start twinkling And the two of us become shooting stars Chuo Freeway On the right we see the horse-race track On the left is the big beer brewery This is a runway taking us to the night sky To the night sky To the night sky

Really good translation! I live in Osaka, and I've driven down the Chuo Expressway in the past...long ago! Love Yuming's music...it's inspired my writing!

I was introduced to Yuma Aria by Leland Sklar who played bass on this track and this is incredible ! I’m certainly lookin forward to discovering more of Yumi’s music.
