All the four sides are fully covered. There is no hole for wire. The pouch is water proof unless you have an intention to go underwater with it. The touch is working really well. The only problem is if the finger print sensor of the phone is at the back side, it is not possible to unblock the phone using the finger print sensor when the phone is in the pouch. Some phones throw a warming message if the top side of the phone is covered when entering the unlock pattern or key. Its a possibility to see this warning message when the phone is in this pouch even though nothing is convering the top part of the phone. It could be a generic problem with any such pouches.
