I’m from Portland, OR and was in a meeting at my company’s corporate offices in Midtown last fall when all of these sirens went by. I looked up shocked at how loud it was and nobody else looked up. When I casually mentioned it, a warm-hearted coworker of mine named LeDondra (that lives on the LES) looked up at me and said “baby, that’s just the songs of the city”. Lol I’ve never forgotten it.
