Thanks for this review. You are the first person ( and ive watched alot of vids on this product) to give an accurate and informative explanation of how this should be used. I have dry skin and this does not look like it is for me

Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me. I was really trying to be thorough because there are so many questions (and so much hype) around this one! For sure, if you have dry skin you definitely need to prep well! The days I really hydrated my skin I enjoyed this much more than the day I applied when I hadn’t done my full skincare.

Very thorough 😊 I'm leaning towards the Universal as a primer in the future when I run out of what I have. I only use in my T-zone (when I remember) so it'll be a while. I still like the DM contour as a cream bronzer, so I'm good on that area.
@KeepBeautyReal12 жыл бұрын
Yes-her “contour” does make a great bronzer! It’s great that you’re using up what you have before snagging the new new!

I am watching this 1 year later as DM just released her serum balm that I purchased and wanting to purchase the blur balm powder as my medication make me sweat alot and to date no foundations can cope in my Aussie summers . Thank you for such a great review .

Yes I saw the serum and I’m intrigued! I have normal to dry skin so I don’t think I’ll snag that one for myself but I can imagine you want as much moisture proofing as possible!

That one day that you showed how it looked from your car and you loved how it looked - it really did look so beautiful. Can you tell me how did you prep your skin for that & apply??
@KeepBeautyReal12 жыл бұрын
Yes! First off I used more hydration. Wow that sunscreen lotion did not do much. I used my Farmacy vitamin c and Kiehls ultra facial cream before, and it really made such a difference. No setting mist since I was testing the wear. 😉 I’m so sorry I can’t remember what blush and bronzer I wore that day but I do think they were powder products, because I had tried creams the day before. Using Colorfix on my cheeks definitely created a more matte look on the day I filmed application as well.

this is the first in-depth honest review I've found of this product. I have yet to put the Universal through its full paces of summer, but it is definitely not the miracle that it has been promoted to be. First of all, it goes on oily, and it doesn't dry down. Second, it does not blur at all, in fact I found it emphasized all my pores, and it brought out all my dry patches from tret use. So its both oily and emphasizes texture...which is wild considering the claims of the contrary. I tried a heavy hand, a light hand...and I've come to the conclusion that it helps w spreading of the beads of oil that can peek through very oily skin, but it can not be used for touch ups, or as a powder. It is none of these things. So, I would only use it on my T zone, w a light hand, and my skin will still get oily, but if using a tissue to blot the oily spots carefully, it can be refreshed nicely. I would still need to use a powder. I would not use it as a primer, or a powder, it's not moisturizing like a balm, its not blurring, perhaps it blurs the oil beads and spreads it out so your skin while shiny, has a more uniform polished look. It has a very specific job, but it is not more effective than a good powder. Infact, the only miracles for an oily skin person I've found have been the Australian Gold mineral sunscreen, and the Shiseido Synchro Self refreshing foundation thus far. They make my skin look great. I was hoping the universal balm would do this for me but I felt oversold. I may change my mind in the summer....I really wanted to be in love with this product.

@@marymoodsandmakeup4219 I'm so sad to be hearing about BITE...although I did think it was weird that trendmood is saying they're closing and BITE hasn't actually said that yet. the word balm and the packaging peaked my interest I'm like is this a foundation? a mattifying powder? find it a bit confusing. but I see now its more like a skintint...I mean balm powder? an oxymoron so confusing lol..so interesting balm to powder this might actually be great for the summer humid days...ok ok I'm getting it lol! the bronzer one doesn't look neutral to me either looks very warm on your skintone. I love it i think it looks flawless and light..I will pick one up sold! lol..

It’s like…a skin tint, a mattifying primer and a powder has some weird love triangle that resulted in this baby 🤣

Looks like as a primer works best for me. I used it after I put my concealer and it lifted it up. I was about to return it. I just now tried without any product and made my skin to look flawless. So I don't know. I wounder how it feels on my mouisterizer, I wonder if it would work. I will try tomorrow. I bought this cuz I wanted to get away from powder, but I see people still using power on top of this product. I guess I will keep testing. It is really a new thing for me.
@KeepBeautyReal19 ай бұрын
I definitely do NOT like it over makeup. I don’t see how that texture would ever work over other makeup. I agree-I feel like wearing it as a primer, or the tinted version makes a lovely blurring light coverage. You just can’t put on gobs of it, like I’ve seen some people trying to do.

I think one used on its own is pretty easy…but I don’t think it’s a product that’s ideal to use three times on one face lol 😉

I'm oily and I bought the balm, and I like it but doesn't keep me matte and eventually my oils break it down. I can't use it on its own, it doesn't set down and looks too wet on my skin. I have to set it with a powder foundation. but I'm not suprised nothing really holds up to my oils. But I do like how it looks and how fast it is to apply. I think it may hold up better in the winter when I'm combo oily verses oily. Also I have a neutral untone and I bought shade 6 as my all over shade and to me it matches perfectly. I didn't buy a darker shade as a bronzer.
