Glad the rules were easy to understand :) Loved working on this, and so glad to see it receive such praise!

This is merely a reskin of the game Soviet Kitchen (not particilary for children), it doesn't surprise me that adults could like this reskin also :)

We actually worked with the HYBR team who created Soviet Kitchen to make Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy while expanding on the gameplay for kids to be able to enjoy it in different ways :) It's absolutely a co-publication with them. - Az

Hi ! No doubt about that :) It was just to raise awarness that a similar game existed with a less kid's theme for those who wanted that ;)

@@romainb9174 For sure! Soviet Kitchen is an amazing game that blew us all away at Lucky Duck when we played it and really the reason we wanted to work with HYBR :D - Az

Definitely not the first. Bugs in the kitchen, Rhino Hero, etc are among many.

My kids love this game

Just got this game in today. Unfortunately the app isn't as great as described in this video. You have to dance the cart around above your phone or tablets camera until it finally reads the QR code which is kind of hard if you're playing with a younger kid and they get frustrated, I got frustrated. I find that tapping the card over the camera and slowly raising it to the suggested height works best. I'll definitely give it another try but my first experience was not great, it's definitely not as easy as Tom made it seem in the video. Also I've tried multiple devices having a similar issue with each. Perhaps there's a trick that I'm not aware of. Love the review though that's why I bought the game!

Neither of those games are out yet. With things the way they are I wonder if they'll even be available this holiday season.

Just bought it and played with my 4 year old and we loooove it!! As you say, I was the one asking my daughter to play one more! Haha... I strongly recommend it. 😍

Combining colors as the main challenge seems really boring. Cute app and cards but the actual game seems painful and dumb.

it looks great for kids, but isn't it same-y? (in terms of how many times the adult would really want to go back to it as you described it)
@DTChrisYi2 жыл бұрын
Compared to a lot of kids games, this is one I'm happy to play often. We'll do maybe three games back to back and take a few days off from it, or do one game a night for a little bit and we haven't gotten sick of it.
@nshaw12992 жыл бұрын
@@DTChrisYi I totally get the potential ongoig appeal of this color puzzle for adults (I think adults who like 'hues and cues' are highly likely to like this one as well, and not just them). But the question abouut samey-ness is whether or not all puzzles are 'create the closest proximity to this color out of x number of color cards' or there's more variety? from there each person can think if this is the type of puzzle he will enjoy doing a lot of. Again, I totally understand it can be a 'candy crush' puzzle for adults so it never gets old, but still, for some it might not.
@DTChrisYi2 жыл бұрын
@@nshaw1299 Almost everything is color proximity, but as you progress they'll add some cards and different kinds of monsters that change up small rules. Not a ton, but sometimes you'll pass cards or draw more cards when you match certain types of symbols. Little things, but neat that it advances.

The thing about apps is that they lack the level of permanency the board game has. Regardless, I rather sure that most adults would get bored within 15 mins of this.
@DTChrisYi2 жыл бұрын
Just my perspective, I've played a LOT of this with my kiddo lately. I haven't gotten bored with it yet, but I'm also approachingit as a children's game. Most of those get boring in 15 minutes if you're hoping for Mansions of Madness instead.

This is a card assisted mobile app. It's not a board game.

6:26 So glad it's the adults who are buying the games and not the kids. If a board game has an app, it's very unlikely I will purchase it. But a board game with an app, for kids? Instant disqualification. I just don't get it. Board games (especially with kids) is a fun way to spend time away from screens, which, in my house, is their main purpose.
@makeplay80042 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Our main purpose for playing boardgames is having a great time together. In case of yummy yummy, we put a lot of love and effort into making exactly that happen. The game is very social and very tangible, unlike mobile games. Anyway, if the app is a nono for you, that's ok, there are so many awesome alternatives for you and your family! Xx
@DTChrisYi2 жыл бұрын
I admire spending time together away from screens, and aim to do the same with my kiddo. But when you're playing this game, you're talking to each other, problem solving, discussing and managing your hand of cards, then you look at the screen for a few seconds. They did a great job of making g it first and foremost about spending time together.

I have no problem with apps. I use them all the time. I just don't like the idea of my board games having a shelf life based on this company keeping their app up to date.
@JustinEmlay2 жыл бұрын
Exactly this. I just threw out two Hasbro games that are 100% worthless now because the apps aren't even available anymore. What's worse, people are STILL selling those games! I also threw out a third from another company, I forget the name, Zapped or something like that. Some Zynga offshoot.
