I made this yesterday. I was expecting less since I tried so many chocolate cake recipes and were all so-so. This one by far is the most delicious, moist and softest chocolate cake I have baked. Hi guys, i made this today using the regular sized round cake pan and fortunately, the bottom didnt sink. I used 1 1/2 cups of sugar instead of 2 making the sweetness just right. I intend to reduce it more the next time i make since i am really worried with the sugar content. The moisture is just right and my friends loved this! You know that moist but not really wet-moist? Mabigat ito sa tyan, really and perfect with a cup of coffee. Btw, i also added a teaspoon of black coffee in the hot water bringing the chocolate flavor more. I used hintz cocoa powder :) moreover, i used this as the cake for my own black forest cake. For the frosting, i used 1/2 cup of cold whipping cream, plus 2 tbsp of white sugar and half tsp of vanilla. Be careful in mixing as overmixing tends to make the cake na bumagsak. For the frosting, U have to make it 1 cup of whipping cream to cover entirely the cake. Just cut the cake in half and place at least half inch thick of the frosting. Remove the top part as well to get rid of the hard portions on the top cake. Top it with chocolate chips and cherries and voila! Thanks for this recipe yummyph!

I tried this recipe today by halving the recipe in 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan. Also, without icing. Wallahi, it turned out really well and it is the most moist loaf cake I've ever tried. I've a permanent recipe now :D

Kanickaimary charles, check your cocoa powder. If it doesn't taste good, switch to another cocoa powder that does. This recipe really depends on your cocoa powder. I already made this once and it’s absolutely delicious. To maybe make it more moist however, can i substitute all purpose flour for cake flour?? Or if you know how to make the cake more moist please give me tipsss love the recipe

Hi! The kind of flour you use doesn't make a cake more moist. It's the amount of fat or moisture in the cake that makes it moist. Using another kind of flour such as cake flour will only make it softer. If your cake was dry, we suspect it was over baked. Hey i tried the cake...it was decadent n guiltest to the crest....i made eggless...i followed the exact procedure..just skipped the eggs...n replaced that by 1/4th cup buttermilk n 1/2 cup condense milk.....n reduced the powdered sugar to 1 cup( to accomodate sweetness of condense milk)....❤❤❤❤ a big thank u .....❤❤

Tried this recipe for my lola’s birthday today😍 it was successful😍 but the cake itself is kinda dry snd not moist, maybe i overcooked the cake , because around 30 mins i checked the cake and some still stick on to the toothpick, so i cooked it for another 15 mins, total 45 mins , its well done but has a little dry texture. But after i refrigerate the cake , it turns out soft and crumbly. Btw i used chocolate buttercream frosting instead of melted chocolate. Hi! Not sure what happened to your cake since this is a super moist cake. Please note that all cakes will feel somewhat dry immediately out of the oven since it is is still hot. That's why it needs to cool down so it can reabsorb moisture (that's the job of the sugar btw.). :) Thanks for watching our videos. :)

Hi! Always preheat ovens unless the recipe tells you otherwise because you cannot bake at 180C if you didn't preheat the oven first. If you didn't preheat your oven, you are actually starting to bake your cake at room temperature. This is why preheating is a must for all baking recipes. Not sure what an "ifb convection oven" is but if it's an oven, you should always preheat it first. Hope that helps. Thanks for visiting and watching our video. :)

Hi! We don't usually recommend doubling baked recipes since the leavening agents can make your cake fail. Instead, we suggest making the recipe twice. INGREDIENTS 1 3/4 cup of apflour 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 cups sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 tsp vanilla *sifted and mix* 1 cup cocoa powder 1 cup hot water *Mix and pour in the first mixture* Bake: (grease the pan and put parchment paper) 350°f and 30 - 40 mins Chocolate topping: 6 ounces semi sweet Chocolate and 3/4 cup All purpose cream. microwave for 10 mins

The taste is great and my advice is to reduce the amount of sugar because it was like super sweet therefore if ur minding sugar amount what i recommend is to reduce the sugar level plus should thank this person and i totally recommend this recipe to try. If I'm trying a recipe I use what tin/pan I have. Just make sure you grease it well. If I have leftover cake mixture from using a smaller pan I make a few cupcakes with it. X
