I saw this "chaotic good" story once where the guy was with a guide in a foreign market. The guide asked a vendor if he had any of an endangered animal that was illegal to sell, but people still would because the meat was expensive. The vendor took out the animals thinking he would get a sale. The guide shouted, "RUN", punched the vendor in the face, and stole the critters. They set them free later that day. I don't typically condone theft, but I loved that story because the abuser didn't get any money and the animals were still saved lol
@jannday20043 жыл бұрын
I do condone theft when it's a situation like that, when you're actually saving a life from abuse and also not supporting the terrible market that sells them. And when people are starving and don't have anything to eat. I think people in general should be more generous, but unfortunately, we are all selfish in general, like, that's why we still have hunger in the world too. Especially the truly rich people should be more generous, they aren't going to lose their fortune if they just help others a little bit. You know? To me, there's more ambiguity in these actions to be considered, of course, each case is it's own. Anyways, stopped ranting, loved the story lmao

18:20 Wikipedia has explained that the fish bowl thing was a misunderstanding of white people when they first came to China, where Goldfish originate. In older China it was a custom for the rich to have large ponds of Goldfish that had plenty of plants and space. However, one might place their favorite Goldfish in a bowl for half an hour or so to show off to friends and family, then they'd put it back. Westerners thought this meant Goldfish were meant to be in bowls.

For the “saving the fish” one, they are taking their dying fish, a tetra, which are schooling fish and need a school to be comfortable, out of a tank with seemingly no other fish in it, let alone tetras, puts it in a tiny dish, adds several times this tiny freshwater fish’s weight in salt, puts it into shock by putting it in cold water, acts like they are saving the poor thing’s life because it moves, which are most likely just its last moments before death, that or it’s already dead, probably just caused by the salt, adds cheap pellets for some reason, and supposedly drops it down the drain. This is why I don’t have Tiktok.
@ireallylikeinigo23003 жыл бұрын
And the fact they waited until the fish was on death's door before " saving it ", they could have picked up the signs sooner but then again they might not have but this really annoys me that it might have been on purpose for clout.

I saw this TikTok, talking about making a jar home first their beta fish, and they made a jar all pink with the pick rocks and fake coral, and I was pretty pissed, but at the end, they showed a large fish tank, and a much better environment, and said, ‘jars aren’t homes for fish!” And saying that they need a large environment, it made me feel much better 🥺💗

But I treat it every four days aprox cause of hard water .... Idk why it evaporates on me after thirty days but it's like ten gallon one and by end of month the things down to half I use the treatment stuff to keep it clear , get more algae in summer I noticed so changed her water rinsed of her plant toys ,gravel, and the air filter the other day cuz the algee growth and treated it treatments start out purple but settles in two hrs after each cleaning but why does the water level go down on its own and not stay the same is it from the filter bubbles the water likes evaporating ... ? I'll top it off as needed with purified spring water and add treatment but I'm just curious why the water level goes down at random

Obviously I didn’t see what you saw, but “dirty” tanks aren’t always bad. For example, my blackwater betta tank looks very dirty, but it gets cleaned often and the “dirty” look is due to natural tannins from driftwood and Indian almond leaves. Of course, if your friend never does water changes or uses raw tap water in her tanks it’s not good, but lots of things can make a tank appear dirty. :)

He was sitting there talking about it in the middle of class to his friends, and they all laughed at it. A lot of breeders will use that excuse to sell animals, which usually works (for thousands of dollars sometimes) but that only adds fuel for them to breed more dogs, cats, etc. so they can make more money. The “funny way your hamster died” video made me think of something that happened at school once that disgusts me to this day So this one kid had apparently recently gotten a new hamster. He decided to bring his hamster to school for show and tell. He was inside of his habitat (one of those crappy ones too) and he was asleep since hamsters are nocturnal. He began BANGING against the habitat to wake the hamster up since he wanted to see him move around (Could have been a female hamster though? Can’t quite recall, it was a while back). The teacher told him not to do that since it could put the hamster into shock and possibly die, and he proceeded to go “well he’s my hamster I can kill him if I want to” ??? Teacher didn’t do anything to stop him. Then the other kids began hitting the habitat as well because it was funny. I grabbed onto one of the kid’s hands to get her to stop and she yelled at me, then I got put on time out for a moment even though I was clearly in the right for trying to help the hamster. There was another time the kids were banging against the fish tank because it’s funny. The worst part is it’s not like this was elementary school where kids don’t know better, it was middle school and we were all at least 13 years old. Horrible. That school sucked in general though. People like that should NOT be allowed to have animals. If they treat an animal like that, how would they act around other kids? It’s disgusting.

As a pretty sensitive person who has rabbits, it hurt me so much when I see any of those rabbit eggs videos. Small animals are unfortunately not taken seriously. I, myself, had a soft fur rat. His name was Elton. But someday, Elton died. It’s the story of live. They don’t live eternally. But people in my entourage do joke about his death and all. And say this is just a mouse. I shouldn’t cry for it. And anyway, I have a other one left.
@howling_starr3 жыл бұрын
I've never owned one, but I have a couple friends with pet fancy rats and they absolutely adore them. It's sad how short their lifespans are though, even with all the love in the world and the best of care, they only tend to live a few years at most, and damn if it isn't heartbreaking every damn time. It doesn't matter if you've had a pet for two years or twenty, don't let anyone judge you for grieving over their passing.
@yourhope54103 жыл бұрын
When I was a kid, I was bullied for years because I loved rats. People made fun of me when mine died, too. I know how you feel, and it feels horrible. I hope you and your remaining rat/s are doing ok. Someday you will find better and kinder people to be friends with.
@mikkelludenberg66023 жыл бұрын
@@yourhope5410 yea. It’s better since people stopped to do joke about him too. Because when Elton died, it was in night. And the other one ate a little bit of him since in nature it’s what they do to get ride of the dead one who died near. A way to not attract predators near the nest. But my family took it as " It’s a psychopath. And he look like a psychopath with his red eyes." And when I try to explain they say they are not in nature. And since they call Kona, my last soft fur rat, a savage when he’s so sweet. And since Elton died, he look sad alone in his cage. And nervous too. He don’t have long to live either though. Maybe one year if I’m lucky. Really I’m living with people who always try to prove me that animals don’t have emotions. And they don’t want to understand that it’s not because animals don’t express their feelings exactly like us that they don’t have them.

Dear lord i love rats and i agree Once my friend saw these kids gathered around something at school, so we went up to them and boom mamas, there's a bee. But the bee had a broken wing. The kids were giving the bee pollen and stuff and the bee started climbing a plant to fly off of. It actually took off but it landed a few seconds later. Then we had to eat because it was lunchtime. Since those fish are fresh water fish, putting salt in their water will actually harm them because the salt makes their cells shrivel up.
@ashleyadams36443 жыл бұрын
Regarding the “fish revival process”... An interesting thing with salt is if you put it on meat of a just freshly killed animal it will spasm out. I saw this video one time were these girls when to some restaurant and they were gonna eat turtle meat (I think) and the chef was gonna cook it in front of them. He brought the raw meat out, placed it on their plates, and put salt on it and the meat literally crawled off the plate. No lie. And you could tell it wasn’t alive because it was like meat you get in a grocery store, you know, prepared for human consumption. The science behind it is that the salt activates the nerve endings that are still working in the muscles and causes the muscles to flex. After death, nerves are still receiving info and trying to take it to the brain, even if a part is severed from the main body, at least for a little bit. Kinda creepy if you think ab it too much. Literally, all these “revival/saving” attempts on their fish is just them essentially “electrocuting” (for a lack of a better term atm) their fish to see it wiggle. It’s not doing anything to bring back or save your fish. The fish ded. Also, all the videos I’ve seen by people who actually know what their doing who use salt baths are doing it to get rid of a BACTERIAL INFECTION, and they’re using AQUARIUM salt, and like four different tubs of water, one with regular aquarium safe water, then one with aquarium salt water (with very small amount that the experienced fish owner has measured out specifically for that fish), a tub of water to rinse them off in and then a tub of regular water again for them to calm down in after that stressful experience, and the procedure is done very quickly, so no harm is caused to the fish, only a beneficial bacterial cleansing (which might I add, should be a last resort if medicine doesn’t work). It always makes me very frustrated when I see these videos. Sorry, this turned out VERY long but hopefully it was informal and it keeps others from irresponsibly giving a fish a salt bath.
@marimegpoid36993 жыл бұрын
TL;DR: the nail idea would be cute if it were painted on or a rubber fish. It's horrible that they use a real fish. I think the idea is cute, but it's so stressful for the fish and so so wrong. Rubber is a thing. Clay is a thing. Or just paint a fish on it. There is no need to abuse and torture an animal for it.
