This is sport. She might deserve a crown but she still has not got her medal just because she was too self-confident and did not pay attention to new rulings of FS federation : if it were in Vancouver, she would have won. But it was 4 years later, her jumps were technically easier than Adelina's ones, and her steps too. It's a real pity for her, she is an amazing skater, but she lost this battle before it stared because she even had no official coach who could inform her! This is sport..

@@cath1176 what a foolish man.. Adelina- flutz(using inedge jumping lutz), too-foot landing, unclear edge uses in step sequence. Does she really deserve gold medal? Absolutely NOT. She CANNOT do clear lutz. Adelina's 3Lutz should have been underscored, but it did not because of unpartial judging. Yuna's was just texbook. Adelina did too-foot landing. Do you need more explains? Lol And More triple did not mean more higher technical score of jump. Jumps is been scoring by quality and execution ability of jumps, not by numbers of triple jump. If your saying is true, Mao should have got highest tech.score because Mao had 8 triples. How did you argue that Adelina's step is more harder than Yuna's? You should have know that moving arms a lot is not meaning more harder step sequence. After studying figure, if you would watch Adelinas free, you know that. Her step was full of just unclear edge uses. Plz dont overestimate Adelinas figure technics.

I got over this about knowing the truth about FS, she was skating an outdated routine, she had 6 triples when the other top 4 skaters had 7 or 8 triples. If Mao and Yulia hadn't fallen, she wouldn't have even gotten a medal. It's obvious she skated beautifully, but in Figure Skating the BV is the only thing that counts, and her's was a lower score from Vancouver 2010.
@aracelichely29545 жыл бұрын
@@Bebe-ge2te NOT TRUE. Why do you keep in denial? You don't know anything about figure skating if you think like that. Yuna had a higher BV in the short and still adelina with the weakest combination and mistakes was tied with her?! (that was BS) besides you have those two scores (short and long) AND you also have PCS, the VB was only 1.5 of difference, something very easy for Yuna to compensate because she know how to do things better that sotnikova, do you know that the GOE is? Do you know that mistakes makes you loose points right? Why it's important to do the jumps in the correct way. Well Sotnikova had A LOT OF MISTAKES that were ignored, she was helped by the judges since the short program because there's no way that she had the same level of GOE that Yuna with all her experience and polished movements besides CORRECT TECHNIQUE. That's the problem, not just the technical elements (even if you don't count adelina's two foot landing, flutz etc) with only the GOE Yuna had this in the bag since the short program. I'm amazed that you don't really know what counts in this sport and despite all the evidences that had come to the light since that day you STILL try to defende the fraud that this competition was...how can you be so naive?

Yuna was the last to skate. Can you imagine the pressure she felt in this performance, knowing that Sotnikova's scores were so ridiculously inflated that unless she skated at her very best, and even possibly then, chances were she wouldn't make it? This performance is breathtaking. It isn't even the best of Yuna's career, but it's the one I always come back to. The world will never see a female skater as complete as Yuna Kim.

The music is full of emotions and yet has cheerfulness within its captivating powers. It is a difficult piece to express because the music suddenly changes from strong and dramatic to subtle and nostalgic. Only Yuna can express it." - David Wison “It was my last competition, and it was a long, hard journey to be there. I was just so happy to finish it.” “More than being remembered as the Vancouver gold medalist or the Sochi silver medalist, I just want people to remember that there was once a skater named Yuna Kim. ”

Yuna said something in her book, and I think it went like this: "Connecting with the audience comes first, the colour of the medal comes last." That's how much she just enjoys the sport for her fans to enjoy, rather than to think about just being thought of as a gold medalist or whatever medal you get. This is the words of a true champion who loves the sport so much, and she will always be, in my heart, the best to ever do it^^
@Essylte3 жыл бұрын
This should be a highlighted comment. For those who think that Adios Nonino was a less difficult program, read this. David Wilson tailor made this program, and Yuna Kim delivered it with her usual panache. Her speed, musical interpretation, and mature artistry literally shone here.

It seems like Yuna is from different planet where figure skating is an art piece. Her performance exists at a different level from other skaters. She is always truly immersed in the music, emotion, and character and looking like nothing matters than achieving her high excellence. She also has whole packages: power, speed, accuracy, elegance, and expressiveness. She deserved more than a gold medal, maybe a platinum one. I am very thankful to witness Yuna’s performance, because I know that this kind of perfection is something happening once in the figure skating. She will be missed whenever I watch other skaters skate but never reach her level, never make me moved to tears. Sotnikova is also a good skater with powerful skills. Sotnikova winning was the biggest joke of figure skating history. It was ridiculous then and it just gets worse as more time passes. Yuna was skating with an ease she's never brought. Her skating skills weaved in and out of the music beautifully, and her jumps had the size and power you should expect at this level.
@dr.mcmillan_an92762 жыл бұрын
the fact that in 2018 the youngster Zagitova won, and in 2022 the “Queen of Flutz” Shcherbakova won - these are also bad jokes
@vernakes4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, not the first bad joke of figure skating history. There are some other examples. Like in 2002 with Sale/Pelletier's "Love Story"- probably, the best ever program and performance of pair skating - couldn't win clearly

@@tiho6817 Adelina Sotnikova is a beautiful, wonderful skater. Both Yuna, Adelina and Carolina are winners. My apologies. I believe all those skaters are winners for their hard work. All have such wonderful talent. But still in the end Queen Yuna is the rightful Olympic Gold medalist.

@@gracekelly1484, I've watched the video. I'm not a qualified professional skater judge to measure what's have been done right and what's wrong. But judges are not machines and their not thinking by math equations so there can be differences in points of view of each judge. They're both wonderful skaters but now judges decided that Adelina was better. But that's not what important. And what is that in the video from "Koola King" I didn't see any prove of direct cheating aside of speculations about who is slightly better that another in that subject matter. The most important thing that I really don't like - is how some people talk about my country and my people. Olympic games and other worldwide sport events needs to unite nations, not to tear them apart just for some scores. Do we even doing sports to make a friendship or to gaining as more gold shiny roundies as possible? I would glad if Adelina took 23th place as mush as if she took 1th. I wouldn't hate nation just for judge her "not the way I want". That's my point.

Tiho She did the same program but got 10 extra points even though she didn't perfectly land some of her jumps, while yuna max got 1-2 points extra. Not to mention even if you calculated the biased points the judges gave her there was 5 points that came out of nowhere, did you even watch the video properly? I get that you want to defend your country and stuff but it's obvious they stole her gold medal, now russia is banned from the olympics 🤷🏻♀️
