This interpretation is so good. One of my favorite songs of all time, the way it goes through the sweetness of the intro, to the fear, anger, and darkness, into desperation, then madness, then relief and back into the sweetness of the intro. All conveyed so perfectly.

There is nothing wrong with liking Trap. Classical music has been a part of my life for a few years now and I will never stop listening to it. But I also really like any kind of electronic music. Just because you listen to one kind of music doesn't necessarily determine what kind of person you are (although sometimes it does lol). If you are looking for more of Chopin, I would recommend Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23 performed by Krystian Zimerman (my personal favorite pianist for this piece).

I can not decide who has my heart more - Chopin or Yundi. I feel like George Sand completely immersed in the experience, only wishing that I could lay on the floor beneath the Grand and feel each note resonate around me, as GS likely did ! I'm (especially lately) reminded of the high price of success, a "genius' trap" dilemma leads - public, fans and even politicians taking and taking from the artist, using him for a national treasure clout or to make an example of a human being with little privacy, just trying to meet his basic needs no differently than others in a tricky social vacuum. This man is not some national property [unlike it's been drilled into his head as with so many others]. This talent belongs to the world. May he never forget that his music and support hasn't wavered one bit.

Chopin wrote this piece in Majorca where he fled with his lover George sand & her two children- having fled the dampness of Paris only to end up in what was a wet Majorca- Chopin is said to have composed the piece there where the note repeated throughout the work represents the raindrops, hence the nickname. His tuberculosis worsened as a result, and was banished to a cold monastery in valldemossa. I play this piece, and every time I do- the hairs on the back of my neck stand & shivers down my spine not only from its deep emotion and pain that Chopin so often conveys in his pieces.. but I feel the cold and dampness of it all.. Chopin is unique, by far the most emotional & sentimental of them all ( pianists) with each piece he wrote he had a story to tell..
