Yun Duo 云朵, a 26-year-old singer of the Qiang ethnic group 羌族 is from Maoxian 茂县, Mao county in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture 阿坝藏族羌族自治州 (Ābà Zàngzú Qiāngzúzìzhìzhōu), northwest Sichuan 四川 "Yun Duo retains her original singing style, born of the mountains (no wonder she has impressive vocal range and clear voice) where singing and dancing are an important part of people’s daily lives. Yun Duo was not formally trained, but her mother is an accomplished singer." (last.fm) And the well-known singer-songwriter Dao Lang 刀郎, himself from Sichuan as well, has been lending her a hand to the fame.
