Yes your explanation of Yuneec Data Pilot was exactly what I was looking for so I did subscribe and keep them coming !!!!

Thank you Matthew. Things have changed slightly now we are 1.5 datapilot but the basics are the same. Thank you for subscribing

Well done on the tutorial. Best demo I've seen of the Yuneec mapping software.

Excellent tutorial Chris could you do one for the DJI or are they the same procedure
@PegasusDroneMedia7 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith, DJI do not do mapping software and no DJI drone has any 3rd party mapping software built into the controller or apps. DJI users have to use Drone Deploy or Pix4D, two very expensive ways of doing mapping but obviously that cost will be pushed to the client as they are a monthly subscription. The H520 has all this built into the controller so no extra costs unless a client wants 3D mapping and not just photogrammerty stitched mapped photos.

Not quite true Chris. DJI have the ability to do this and more via their DJI GS Pro app but this is only available to Apple users who use their iphone or ipad as part of their flight controller. The App is not available on android or on the DJI CrystalSky monitors which is a real shame as the program looks very good. The details of GS Pro can be seen here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnKlpXZ3m9Z5b6c

Ah yes. I had forgot about GS Taffy. I stand corrected. I used to use Litchi for waypoints which you could also use for mapping. Since being away from DJI for a while GS had slipped my mind.

Welcome video. Yuneec seems not to have a large video presence. You mentioned the 520 is not an "all rounder" what do you consider an "all rounder" ? I am investigating the 520 for a comprehensive tool. Do you recommend other drones ? Thank you for your work I like your channel ...
@PegasusDroneMedia5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion there is no such aircraft that is an all rounder. Most drones will give you an all round feel and do most of the jobs you want it to do but none will be the 'perfect' do everything drone. Example, A DJI Phantom 4 Pro is probably near perfect at doing cinematic shots and also being able to do mapping as the shutter on the camera is a mechanical one and not a rolling shutter. But it has its limitations:- you cannot fly dual op, it has a fixed camera, it only has 4 props so has no redundancy, it's noisy and it looks like a toy but in all fairness what comes out of the camera is very good. A 520 uses an E90 4k 20 mp camera but has a rolling shutter which can provide inaccurate overlaps when mapping so a bigger overlap is needed, You cannot change expos so making it fly in a cinematic way is difficult but not impossible, Yuneec have never corrected this and allowed us to have expo controls in the nearly 2 years it has been on sale for and over those 2 years it is the most complained thing regarding flight control of the 520 and the H Plus. Yuneec just close their ears to certain subjects it would seem. However it is quiet, has redundancy with 6 props, 5 different cameras depending on what you want to use it for and all cameras rotate 360 degrees. So it all depends on what you want a drone to do and then focus on that subject and then buy another one for different tasks. If you want an okish allrounder then go for the H Plus.

Thanks for your tutorial mate. Looking at getting the h520 as an all-around drone, that is, for mapping/surveying, inspections, photography and cinematography. How have you found the h520? Especially compared to the phantom 4p which I'm more familiar with? Keep up the good work mate

It has some problems and it certainly isn’t an all rounder at this stage. It needs improvements

Great video. Just purchased my H520. Have the latest DataPlanner installed on my iMac. Can not find / figure out where you can choose anything other than survey mission. Im wanting to plan video flight missions in addition to survey missions. Not seeing any other choice for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James, just select video instead of photo, then select no change after the forst point, then at the last point select stop video

What app can I use to plan a flight with my H plus?
@jamesunderwood17306 жыл бұрын
You mentioned yaw control and that control is not on the new version of Data Planner. With that being missing Im assuming that is why I can not set up a video mission???
@PegasusDroneMedia6 жыл бұрын
Yes they removed the angle at which you can tilt the camera and the yaw after version 1.1.9 which was the very first version. Lord only knows why. However if you select the angle after take off the mission will continue at that angle.

Does the Data Pilot app stitch the photos together in a saved file without the need for an additional program? And, if so, what is the file format?
@PegasusDroneMedia6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, you need to use a stitching program such as Microsoft ICE or Hugin which is free or PTGui which is paid software but very good
