acemishka I routinely get out about 1,200-1500 feet before I start to see video disruption on my stock Q500+ but control has never been an issue. This can be affected by a lot of things and I have been able to go farther, but rarely do. I like to keep a good eye on it and it's gets pretty hard to see much farther than that.

my guess is that 20 years from now with image recognition technology and super fast proccessors those things will be bussing all over like literally flies, with amazing fly capabilities recording everything you do for example soccer practice with integrated computer system probably tens of times faster than todays computer, recording and coaching you on your training, it will be amazing, too bad I'll be very old by then but it would be fun to watch my future grandson doing the training.

I'm REALLY impressed with these pro-sumer Yuneec drones. Especially the Typhoon hexcopter and controller. Without having had a chance to personally experience this 4K hardware, the radio and drone itself just don't look on par with the previous offering. Obviously the optics have been improved... but I wonder why they cut corners in every other area?

Great video as always. One thing that I have never seen mentioned on any of the videos is the transmitter SD card. I don't get my unit until Wednesday and I am curious. In the unpacking, the only SD card is the camera card. Does the SD card for the transmitter come installed in the transmitter out of the box? Thanks.

When I got the transmitter on and the typhoon on and I wait a couple of mins for it to bind, it seems that my camera is pointed just a little to the left. It seem that the camera is not line up dead center of the Typhoon. Any advance on this issue? and also when I try to take a snap shot it tells me that the snap shot fail. I sure it just some that is simple to fix or something that I'm not doing right. Thanks for any info.

Out of all the RTF camera carrying Multi's currently available the Q500 offers the best out of the box solution as you don't have to beg, borrow, or steal a smart device to use it. However one game stopper for me, and others in a similar situation, is the five mile radius no fly zones. If Yuneec were to adopt the same system DJI have used on the P2V, P3, and Inspires I'd be throwing money at my local dealer, who as it happens is unable to test or demonstrate the Yuneec range for the same reasons. +sputniksam Interesting observation -- I haven't run into that problem myself yet, but I'll concede it would be really annoying to not have your machine lift off, even if you cleared it with your local airport, and so forth. I agree, a hardware-embedded, blanket prohibition against flying within five miles of an airport takes it a step too far -- because there are plenty of instances where it is perfectly legitimate to fly if you're within five miles of an airport (as I mentioned, if you've worked it out with the tower in advance, or if you're at one of the dozens and dozens of established AMA fields around the country that fall within that exclusion zone, for example). I guess the good news is that it's only software -- and software can be updated. Hopefully, Yuneec will take a more enlightened perspective on this issue and go ahead and make that change.

+Roswell Flight Test Crew Thank you for the reply. It is very confusing as neither Yuneec nor DJI have implemented the no fly zones correctly. Only the Mission Planner Software, for the APM and Pixhawk, has the correct information in the mapping application and even then I don't know if it limits the use or is merely an advisory as I haven't attempted to fly in that area. Within Yuneec's interpretation of a no fly zone for this area there are at least two BMFA affiliated model flying clubs. I spoke with Yuneec about this and while they acknowledge they have received many complaints about this they have no intention of revising the no fly zone data. Interestingly the Blade Chroma, which is also made by Yuneec, doesn't have these embedded restrictions and instead are user definable. Regards Nidge
