Fatimah and Joc raised a good son. I know his son personally. I saw this scene and was devastated. I know reality shows have them to do extra. The Amoni I know is not the one we see here anymore. Very respectful young man. He was and is going through young adult life. They eventually listen. We as parents just can’t give up like Joc stated. When he takes his break, he comes to my office and talk. Amoni is a sweetheart! Trust me, he was listening to his dad.

He was listening. I didn’t see him being disrespectful at all. It just seems like they don’t have a traditional father-son relationship. Like they have a friendship more than anything… that is probably why Amoni was communicating with Joc the way he was, while Joc was trying to communicate as father and son. I have 3 sons and one thing I have learned is to listen to your kids as much as you want them to listen to you. That way you can navigate through these moments of disconnect/misunderstanding. You can’t allow yourself to get emotional because then follows irrationality. I have yet to meet an irrational person who makes good decisions.

Plus Joc's son did NOTHING WRONG.. Joc came up aggressive, Joc is the one who suddenly wanted to be "daddy of the year", and Joc is the one who doesn't wanna listen to his son. Damn, I thought Joc was smarter than that. He’s human, and even though he totally messed that up. I hope they can get resolve their issues better in the future. It wasn’t called for either, but so many black kids were raised in violence. Unfortunately they never get the lessons on self restraint and conflict resolution without violence. Giving the prison system another one of our kids. It seems like Joc was. too, They never learn to talk out their issues, if he’s the father, but won’t listen and jumps on you instead. That’s why these kids act a fool in the streets. As parents we mess up sometimes, and Joc definitely did. That boy loves and respects him, but when you do things like this it only backfires. I know these kids can get on your nerves, especially when all you want to do is help them. Violence will only push that boy out into the streets. I put myself in a timeout when I feel like I’m getting too angry, until I can come back and talk like a normal person. The screaming and talking loud never gets through to anyone. Nothing gets resolved or learned. What did the boy learn from this? Now the kid has lost some respect for him, that he may never get back. Beating up your kids is not the way.

I feel for them both, but Joc is at the point where he has to give him to God and pray for the best. When a person (child or not) doesn't care about what happens to themselves, they definitely won't care about what happens to those around them.

This is true. He'll drive himself sick trying to get his son to see what he doesn't care to see. I love that Joc is trying. He's my favorite character on the show. It's hard to see this struggle. As a mom of sons I have been here.

sometimes it takes that prayer and God allowing certain things to happen for people to see and grasp that wisdom and knowledge. i just pray that God has mercy on joc sons soul and that it doesn’t take a near death situation for him to realize what joc was trying to tell him.

What Joc was saying was right but his actions diminished message. He didn’t need to attack his son but the frustration aside from attacking him was absolutely justified

Yea tbh I commented before I seen the full video. Yea he could have toned it down and get his message across but I think he got frustrated cause the son wasn't taking him seriously 🤔 so he snapped. The son was talking back and not listening 😐 no excuses cause Joc ain't have to hit him but idk he wanted to show him tough love

Attack? Was it a black eye or bloody lip i missed y’all really need to stop trying tell other people how to discipline their kids, nobody knows what happened when the camera cut black so who are you to say he attacked him that boy clothes wasn’t even disheveled and from the looks of it he approached him with open hands like he was about to push him I doubt he ever even hit him with a closed fist

@@bugeye8749 Exactly. Joc needs to realize you can't use violence to get a message through to your child. You get frustrated, so you hit the very son you're trying to protect...come on now. Make it make sense.

As a single mother of a 20 year old black man. I feel this in my gut. Good for you joc. Standing up for your children while they are this age is hard but necessary because something in their brain has not clicked on yet. They need guidance ❤️
