I think the song is about being closeted. Dom talks about his partner knowing he is seeing other people and then goes on to sing about losing himself in his hookups and feeling alone without someone else which is how some lgbtq+ people can feel when they are closeted when they date. Also the line about religion and showing gay/lesbian relationships in the back kinda clicked for me. I’m probably reaching but it’s a fire song lol.
