Nope friends, sometimes not even an YES is an actual YES. If you're under the effect of alcohol or drugs or whatever might it be, you're not completely aware of what you're doing. It's important to understand that. Consent needs to be given while sober, lucid.

That Depends on the situation. If u both got drunk and originally intended to have something happen while you two were sober in the first place it's a different story. If the scenario is in a club or a public place, it'd be better to just stay with the person and make sure nothing happens to them, like keep them away from the drinks and have them rest somewhere away from people until they sober up a bit. Maybe even find out if they came alone or with friends who you can contact to get them to stay with her or take her home, or you could offer to take her home yourself or get her into a hotel that she can stay in for the night.

YUNGBLUD has changed my life. I'm a victim of sexual abuse (and I'm only 14) so this song really helps me or at least society is aware of the things that go on in the real world. I'm going to play this song at my school on Tuesday for all the boys/girls who think that a short skirt, croptop, and a thong is consent. And for the girls/boys that think a pair of skinny Jean's and a tank top is consent. Consent is verbal not physical. If she/he doesn't know what their talking about or are out of their mind then LEAVE THEM ALONE. They obviously have no control over their mind or what they say. Probably won't remember the next morning, and panic. Edit: A little poem I found further down in the comments. No matter what we wear, No matter where we go, Yes means yes, And no means no.

Yes, girls SHOULD be able to get drunk without worrying that someone will hurt them when they are vulnerable. We SHOULD be able to forget our wallet at a store and still find it when we return. Guys SHOULD be able to go to school without a bully beating them up. The point of the song is to try to teach decent guys to realize that a drunk girl can't consent. To teach them that good men don't take advantage of drunk girls. A predator isn't going to give a crap about right or wrong or this heartbreaking song. The good guys need to learn how to stay away from drunk girls, because they aren't able to consent. And girls also need to learn how to be savvy in a world where bad people exist. As long as there is evil in the world, we have to learn how to avoid harm. That's why you try not to forget your wallet, you don't 'walk down a dark alley in a bad neighborhood, you learn how to deal with bullies, and you don't get falling down drunk in public, even though an ideal world would not require such precautions. Fair? It's getting empowered for your own survival and taking care of yourself. Otherwise, you are putting your well being into the hands of every stranger you come across. This isn't about blame, but prevention. When I was in college, we had rules we lived by. We always looked out for each other when we went out, especially to a frat party. If one of us talked to a guy, the rest didn't lose sight of her or forget about her. Bad stuff happens when you get separated from your friends. And we never got sloppy drunk when we were out, because it makes you too vulnerable. Plus getting sick at a party is gross anyway.

This is an amazing and incredibly important song. Thank you for shining a light on this issue. If someone is drunk they can’t give consent. Everyone needs to realise that.
@gregs95846 жыл бұрын
Hannah Inspiration rubbish.. I've given drunken consent countless times. Are you suggesting that I've been sexually assaulted?
@hannahinspiration90216 жыл бұрын
Greg See theoretically, yes. Drunk consent is not a thing, otherwise everyone who would want you to sign a contract would get you shitfaced, make you sign it and then you might have a contract that you never wanted. But, if you don’t feel like you got assaulted you’re okay.
@gregs95846 жыл бұрын
I see. Well that raises quite a few more questions. What other decisions can i make under the influence and not be held responsible? Can i decide to drive my car and mow down a pedestrian? beat my girlfriend? rob a store? Or is responsibility only absolved from decisions I make about sexual contact?
@hannahinspiration90216 жыл бұрын
Greg See not being able to give consent and not being held accountable are two different things. It seems like you simply don’t know what consent is.
@gregs95846 жыл бұрын
Consent is deciding to give permission. It's a decision. Your first comment suggest that drunk people can't make decisions. They most certainly can. Sometimes it's the wrong decision, but they are still responsible for making it. Suggesting that myself, and almost every adult on the planet has 'technically' been a victim of sexual assault because they got laid while drunk at some point or other is ridiculous and diminishes real victims.

As a victim of assault while under the influence many years ago...just because you don't hear NO doesn't mean it's ok, especially if you're literally unconscious and can't even say no. This is another reason why YUNGBLUD has become one of my new favorites...he's not afraid to bring this to light without hiding how ugly it can be.

I’ve been this girl, more than once. In my case never when I’ve been in a relationship, but still, self destructive tendencies and depression can lead to a very visible vulnerability. There are many people who will take advantage of that vulnerability, or even facilitate it,. So be aware no matter your gender, if your friend is mashed and talking to someone who either doesn’t care about the state that they’re in, or actively tries to worsen it, that person is dangerous. It’s better to be a cockblock than to see someone you love be taken advantage of.
