Somehow this is exactly the kind of Soviet kitsch I was expecting... simultaneously fun and very strange

What a fascinating layout for the xylophone, never seen anything like it

I love the seemingly random variety of instruments (percussion) in this piece! 🤪😜

This is AWESOME!! Love the percussion break towards the end of the piece, just another delightfully strange addition to the concerto.

Thank you for finding this and posting it. This is a fantastic piece, full of whimsy and creativity. I love the instrumentation. I looked on iTunes but no luck finding a recording. Thanks again.

Never thought I would come across a concerto for, not one, but TWO xylophones! The xylophones in the TV performance looks quite odd though, looks like the Diamond Marimba, an instrument made by Harry Partch. I think this piece will sound great if played with a full orchestra.

Look up four row xylophones, you’ll see how the pitches are laid out. Also called “holz und stroh instrument”.

Allegro scherzoso divertente! Reminds to the athmosphere of popular piano duet Ferrante and Teicher, and others of folk-swing-exotica music, like the Three Suns

It sounds like DLC from Kabelevsky’s The Comedians.

I find this quite entertaining, almost amusing ... not sure if it was intended that way. Definitely interesting to listen to. Thank you!

Wahrlich wertvolle Aufnahme!
