Yes, I would totally host if I were able to. (I’m almost 60, but a car crash 12 years ago caused chronic pain that limits me about 10-20% of what I used to do.) We have hosted about 150 lake parties in our backyard, so I know we’d enjoy air bnb. Our home owner’s association wouldn’t allow for extra living spaces on our property, though. This video was special because the host has such a big heart and you can see that he’s having fun, too. Thanks for sharing this!

We had our wedding here! Dan and his family were the most amazing people. We rented the man cave and the yurt for overnight guests. It was definitely the most amazing and beautiful experience of my life. Could not recommend a cooler place to stay!

As much as I just love that Yurt treehouse, the shower that it has doescnot provide anywhere NEAR enough privacy for Me!! If a Person gets close enough to the pathetic excuse for a wall surrounding the shower are He or She can very easily peek in there and see Me naked.

My son and I stayed in the Inn in July of last year. We had a great time. Dan is a sweet gentleman. We live within 30 minutes of his place now and should schedule a revisit. If you enjoy unique places like this, Dan definitely provides the means to relax. Goat happy hour is lots of fun too.

Gosh, I’d love to visit there and to meet this great human being! I’m a 71 year old American woman married to a 74 year old Swedish man and I have been living here in Sweden with my husband for 23 years. The thing is, if we ever visit the States again, we’ll be traveling to California to visit with family, but I will tell everyone about Danville!

My husband and I spent a weekend at Danville with Dan a few years back. He was very welcoming and wonderful to chat with. We stayed in the main house which is beautiful, incl. its own movie theater and the town front of Danville in the main hangar out front is so innovative. his place is so wonderfully imaginative and craftsmanship that has gone into each separate structure is so, so impressive. We do not hesitate to recommend a visit to Danville.

There is so much to admire about this man it’s hard to know where to start. It takes a visionary to create all these very unique, whimsical settings and bring them to life. I love the way he uses materials like an airplane hanger, sheep troughs and the airplane thingamajig (hot tub), and seamlessly blends them into the environment and includes all modern conveniences and luxuries. Four successful careers doesn’t happen by chance, and it’s a joy to see him having so much fun creating this Air BnB theme park. In addition to all that talent and creativity this kind, humble man has a giant heart. Its evident he loves people, enjoys learning about them as much as he loves giving them a stay full of fun and surprises. What an great guy he is, he’d be fun to just sit and talk to. This man knows how to do life right.

Wow….this video came to me just as I’m almost finished remodelling a shed in my garden into a Tea House….a friend had suggested I rent it sometime as a retreat of sorts….I kinda laughed saying ‘who would want to do that?’….maybe not such a far fetched idea after all😍 Thank you kind sir for inspiring us to grow and become better as we age with grace💖🙋🏼‍♀️

If your friend suggested you rent it out, and your friend is someone who makes good decisions, you should give it a shot. If you don't want overnight guests, you can rent it for the day as a sort of writers' retreat (or something similar).

his final comments are so true...people can travel to you, even if you live alone and don't get out much. i joined Couchsurfers international about ten years ago, and had a wonderful time hosting two young couples from France (they cooked dinner, it was wow!) and later on, a very nice traveller from Colorado. This was over about two years... and they were happy to sleep in my lounge room on inflatable mattresses, with their own personal sheet. I have blankets to spare. Sadly, my one room flat is now full of office equipment and art gear as i live and work at home these days....so no more room to host in my tiny flat! it was fun, and i thoroughly recommend CI. Since i haven't done it for a while, its a good idea to do your homework on how the organisation has progressed in the last few years...

I am wildly fascinated by tiny homes + have ALWAYS felt that experiences are the BEST gifts 💜 ... I've seen a lot of tree houses but never one with an elevator 😊 .... that was actually something that I used to joke about with my partner at the time...
