Not gonna lie, Yusei at least to my opinion is the most strategic protagonist in the franchise. Probably because his deck stays consistent most of the time and he uses the same combos in most duels just with different strategies. Yugi monsters just gain a new effect in every duel whenever he wants and as soon as he acquired the god cards, his strategies come down to summoning all 3 of them. Judai is more consistent, but he has too many one-time only cards especially Fusions and by the time he got Neos, his deck felt like a different archetype. Yuma relied too much on No.39 he rarely pulled off any combos that don't involve in that one specific Utopia support despite having the most diverse sub-archetype deck out of all. Yuya and Yusaku are in the era where the Protags get new supports every duel, have multiple ace monsters and each monster has multiple effects so OP that can pull off 100 combos with any single one of them. Yusei's deck is the only one I can remember most of the monsters' name what they do and what strategy Yusei would cook as soon as he has them. They're not useless but also reasonably simple that require Yusei to put some IQ in playing.

fudo yusei is the best MC of all yugioh because he used 2 other people deck still can win plus never even goes into "EVIL" power mode
