The Late Late Show with James Corden

Күн бұрын

ames Corden reconnects with historian, philosopher and author Yuval Noah Harari after their chat early during quarantine, and the two discuss how humans have handled 10+ months of the pandemic. And the "Sapiens: A Graphic History" author talks about the US presidential election and the dangers of the current split between political ideologies. After, James asks about the rise of conspiracy theories and our seemingly increased vulnerabilities to them.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

It’s easier than accepting the alternative. If the demagogues of the world edited their own genome, we could live in a utopian society. Somehow I suspect they went to edit 8 billion people to be their slave - rather than to note this pursuit of power is and has been the problem and to edit THEMSELVES to accept and promote the collective power of humanity without the pursuit of wealth or power for its own sake.

Most likely, Corden's Network overlords told him to stfu & let the globalist spew his Technocratic rhetoric of building Ethical Algorithms to "The Global Useless Class", as he so gracelessly describes his fellow man. Other Notable Yuval Quotes for future rounds on the talk show circuit might include: "Most religions are virtual games superimposed on the reality of life". Or maybe this classic: "We will come to see that decisions don't come from a mystical soul but from biological processes in the brain". And one last nugget of wisdom for the road. Yuval describes combining the biochemical processes with big data computers as a revolution," if only we would submit our free will to the algorithm." He continues, "the self disintegrates. You don't understand your true self better, but rather, you come to realize there is no true self. There's just a complicated connection of biochemical connections, without a core. There is no authentic voice that lives inside you." These entropic, nihilistic lies are inhuman and come straight from the pit of hell.

Yeah...but compared to Richard Feynman's books it is dumb. Science is not just easy. The building blocks are easy (if you do not dig too deep...as "fundamental" (not really because one can go deeper and deeper) particles show)...but what can be built out of them is very hard to follow with the simple building blocks...even thought it is easy if you invest a lot of time in following it.

This man attracts so much admiration...but does everyone realise he seriously wants us to meld with robots? That's his great vision for us...come on people. Predicting that humans will "meld" with robots has no relation to wanting it to happen. Yuval very much would like it not to happen, and his entire body of work warns us of the dystopian inequalities coming in the near future that you wtite about. @@a.p.9899 You have to listen to him through several of his talks. He is not pro for this transhumanism. ( I thought that at first, too) He is concerned about it and has fears about it. He feels based on what the technocrats and scientists, and perhaps military intelligence are doing that it may be inevitable and wants us to have solutions for the problems that will face us. I do think he is a humanitarian. That being said, I totally disagree with him about the COV8D narrative. Perhaps he was unaware of the many political layers surrounding it. My research included many renowned Drs and scientists, and other experts around the globe.

@@vickiezaccardo1711 I totally understand your point and admit that in many of his interviews he is positioning himself opposed to ... his own radical ideas. This is very perplexing at first glance, but if you see what he says and then what his elite friends do (backing his ideas that he is initially opposing) the picture becomes more clear. Now this is perhaps a "conspiracy theory" that what he would call it. But this actually can be backed by statistics. Most of his lectures are on business and political forums. We are talking about a radical historian that is somehow overtaking major platforms and somehow able to take hours of our attention over so many fields: medical, economical, business, politics, humanity. His is of no significant importance as a historian or as a scientist! Radicalizing is not inventing. Now putting all that into one file, I can honestly say that in my opinion this person is nothing more but a leader of some sect. And the more I hear his talks and lectures, the more I follow his steps - the more I am sure about it.

Education is not the only answer to the problem of more people believing conspiracies. A lot of those believers have high education. Yuval Noah Harari, an Israeli professor of history, was born on 24 February, 1976 in Kiryat Ata City in Israel. Harari was raised in Haifa, which is the third largest city in Israel in a profane Jewish family with Lebanese and Eastern European origin. He attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1993 to 1998, where he specialized in medieval and military history. Harari later joined Jesus College, Oxford, where he completed his doctorate in 2002 (Harari np). He also attended postdoctoral studies in history in Yad Hanadiv, an Israeli philanthropic Foundation funded by the Rothschild family.

Great book and I love Yuval's views and explanations on most subjects BUT I think he is off about conspiracies a bit. Granted, many people might have trouble understanding complicated things, but the real problem I think is the lack of transparency and openness about what governments are doing, what secret deals are being made without including the public etc. We tend to project our fears and our past experiences onto the unknown, and conspiracy theories are just that: our fears projected onto the things that governments don't reveal. Total transparency would be the antidote to all this.

I fail to understand all the praising reactions to this man's talk. In my view he misses a huge important part of being human. I think somewhere in all his meditation he got lost in a fantasy, an illusion about reality and possibilities of human life on this planet and he lost the connection with being alive on this planet. As a part of nature. I see and hear him as someone who got lost in a certain story he is now telling himself and others. But that is my first impression . I never read his books...

Honestly, surprisingly yes. One of my acquintances, who actually very very smart, took social major in his high school & double bachelor degree, he loves to watch political debates every single day (but never bothered to learn bout his own chronic illness). He also reject to believe on clinical psychology because he thinks it's myths, or a form of excuses to society. He took "information technology" for his master degree which happened in faculty of engineering, but because of that, he thinks he already know it all about both fields; science & society. He always thinks he's aware of everything that's happening in the world. It frustates me, as someone who took science & engineer path, to watch how he thinks, develop logics, conclude only based on political debates, his own assumptions & his own ideology of society. I can't help but seen him as ignorant 😅 but if i think long enough i realized one of the reasons is his basic concept of logics is totally different with how scientific approach that we've been used to. ..the same with my aunts who took non scientific paths. Giving understanding with how something should be thought, considered or decided in scientific concept is really struggling. All their priority is what people say, what people thinks, how society works blabla.. and those all processed in nature.
