I’ve not seen this film but from your review I gathered it tried both a relatable workplace comedy with quirky characters and an absurdist goofball comedy with out of the box ideas and with that ends up being two different movies struggling to coexist and that’s where the relatability factor gets lost You have to pick a lane if you can’t intertwine two different ideas effectively. Aggrestuko melded the two ideas much better than this film seemed to

I think that "you need the lived in experience" is kindof a tentacle off the relativism mutation. The same thing that says "you can't tell me what's right or wrong because you don't understand what I feel." You are critiquing the movie with standards and others are saying "well, you just don't understand how it FEELS." It's basically empathy unchained from any kind of logic, goodness or standards of any sort. I agree with you. The whole concept of language communication, not to mention storytelling, revolves around the idea that you can put outside ideas INSIDE another's head.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker gave a lecture about cause and effect in storytelling, and "Therefore" or "But" were the two words they used instead of "And Then". I've never heard of "And so" and "until", but I suppose it's fine as long as one thing leads to the next thing.

As I see it, "and so" and "until" are permutations of "therefore" and "but". For generic example, you can set up that your protagonist can only do something *until* a certain limit is reached, *and so* he must consider his actions carefully. As with all things, knowing how to use them is the important part.

Honestly just sounds like a failed execution attempt to meld out there comedy with a relatability. When done correct you just love it, when failed it’s “what was the point” I’m reminded a film called Cruising. It’s a film about a cop going undercover to solve a serial killer. The film is well known things not making a lot of sense and feeling like scenes are missing. But listening to the director talk about it, it becomes clear that the film itself was meant to have the viewer guessing/ambiguous.

Man I should rewatch the review for monster seafood wars, I Remember really liking it. I do like the idea of the universal concept of food for the movie. Hope you’re doing well, it’s a tough cut throat world on KZbin. Random Bullshit Go!!! I think that phrase defines Yuzo pretty well. I do enjoy hearing about even movies that didn’t turn out well, my anime trash supplier would be proud of your efforts. I really think there’s something to be said for finding good or at least interesting concepts in bad movies but when there’s really nothing there it’s pretty disappointing. Well, let’s hope that the next indie Kaiju movie has more merit eh. Thanks for your time and effort, see you next time. Also The idea that you can’t understand something if you didn’t live through it is bullshit.

In regards to "relating because you've lived through it." I've never understood that argument. For the one thing, I lost my job during the pandemic as well as after; I don't find stories that feature that "relatable". If anything, I avoid watching those stories, because it brings-back _really painful memories_ of the hardest times of my life so far. It's honestly why I don't get why certain people like "relatable comedies, where the premise is "supposedly" it's funny because they've been in situations like that. How is anyone willing to "laugh at themselves" like that? I think where this movie fails, is that it lacks anything that makes the characters endearing. I actually really love "fish out of water" movies where the main characters is thrust into a new environment, surrounded by a bunch of oddballs. But the point that I see in those movies are that even though the protagonist is offput by their weirdness, they eventually come to like them, and even see them as a new-family. The characters endear themselves to the protagonist, but also to the audience. You gotta make your goofs "lovable." From what you described of the movie, the protagonist doesn't seem to care at all for the new coworkers he meets or build any kind of rapport with them. Like you said, they team up to beat Virus King at the end, because they're characters in a movie. So in a way, it feels like all their characters remain unfulfilled as their quirks never get explained and just remain as jokes.

Hello Omni Viewer, unrelated to the video but I had an offer if you want to hear. I saw that you once provided the voice for Grand King Ghidorah in a video animated by the Toku Society and I am planning a story with some voice acted Kaiju lines and I was wondering if you were interested.

Hey Omni Viewer! Korean comedy is very similar to Japanese comedy because Korean comics called “Manhwa” were influenced by Japanese Manga during the “Japanese Occupation of South Korea” What are your thoughts on Korean comedy and it’s similarities with Japanese comedy?
