+ Everybody knows that Yuzuru Hanyu is one of the most well-rounded, complete skaters out there. After all, he's got the tech, the skating skills, and the artistry. Yet, there's a certain tranquility & peace that he seems to emit when skating, made especially apparent when he's got a rink to himself--no rules, no other skaters... just him, the music, and the ice, expressing his heart out. It's simply sublime. That's why I decided to compile his (in my humble opinion) most beautiful gala EX performances. Sometimes, in competition - with nerves and adrenaline hanging in the air - it's harder to see the sheer beauty of his skating. No such difficulties are in his gala performances. Likewise, it tends to be more difficult to track down exhibitions, so hopefully it'll be convenient for Fanyus or figure skating fans other than myself.
+ I chose these programs / performances specifically using the criteria of (1) my own experiences, (2) copyrights restrictions as noted by KZbin, and (3) video quality highest quality HQ whenever possible.

In his gala performances you can truly see his expressions and the way he acts on ice. It really shows that this is not only a sport but also a work of art. He really loves what he is doing and I am so happy for him 🥺💖

notte stellata is the first ex of yuzu I watched. love it so much I teared up the first time I saw it... so fragile, touching, and breathtakingly beautiful. the second is requiem and I felt the raw emotion, the strenght, the way yuzu skates with the piano tunes are so powerful and soulful I feel like I can't breathe man... like... how such perfection exists... so grateful I can watch him creating art.

Thank you for the compilation of Yuzu's marvellous ex programs. I'm happy to see his 'Requiem of Heaven and Earth' in Boston being in this. It was so emotional and beautiful... I could feel people's souls around him. I appreciate you chose his performances with no commentary during the programs (except one). Yuzu's performance speaks for itself and takes us to the special place where we have never been. In my opinion, commentaries are absolutely unnecessary during ex performances. Thanks again for putting them all together so that we can enjoy and appreciate Yuzuru Hanyu!
