Yuzu has been under scored during last 4 years while his competitors are over scored. ISU doesn’t want the scandal between Yuna and Adelina in Sochi happen again so they changed the rules to stop Yuzu. Judges can control scores, but they can’t control people’s perference.

What I find so fascinating is that his popularity grew more and more in the years where he is no longer winning all the competitions. This really brings home that it is not earning the highest score that continues to grow his fanbase, but that he is admired for so many other qualities above whatever scores the judges decide to give out.

Yuzuru doesn't need to decorate himself to be loved. His skating performance itself has a magnetic appeal, because his skating is a human drama, a human cry, s human love, and a human life. He throws all of his soul and heart into his program, which moves and hits the hearts of all they audiences. If there is anybody who isn't moved by the beauty of his program and the soft yet technically difficult skating of Yuzuru, he or she doesn't have a heart that appreciates the human life. Yuzuru doesn't need to say anything to appeal to the audiences, except only by skating on the ice. He skates to show human emotions that connect all of audiences hearts.

Some people will argue that the meaning of the term GOAT is a summary of a humans’ technical achievement… the best of the best if you will. To me, GOAT means so much more than that. The greatest of all time is somebody who is willing to conquer all barriers, to stand in the face of adversity and not let it beat them down, to maintain humility and an understanding of their place in both their field of endeavor and in the world. Somebody who can challenge, achieve and accomplish, yet still maintain admiration and respect for their fellows and encourage them also to keep striving. This is the reason why Yuzuru Hanyu is the GOAT - because he is all this and still so much more.

I'll tell my perspective, as an Australian. I discovered him on KZbin a couple of years ago and was amazed by his skating. Watched the Olympics videos on repeat for a while, intrigued by the Pooh rains. Moved on. Then a couple days before Beijing, I saw his name trending on Twitter. Everyone was asking where he was, when he was going to show up. I was like "Oh! The Pooh skater!" and decided to follow his Olympic journey. Man, what a rollercoaster. It was incredible to see the outpouring of support from online communities, fans from all over the world coming together out of love for him. The anxiety of watching him skate live on TV for the first time, the heartache of seeing him in pain... It was an emotional week. The gala practice videos are what really captured me for good. I'd never seen skating like that. During that week I also discovered some classic videos like WC17 H&L, FAOI Masquerade, R&J12 etc, and was astonished at how much a figure skater could make me cry. I was absorbed in every way. I'm still absorbed in every way lmao. I fear I'll be this guy's fan for life

I've never watched figure skating in my whole life and don't know anything about it since KZbin suggested me seimei Olympic and i immediately fall for him and started to watch all his programmes and being a fan of figure skating. So glad to have you joining into this fandom! Discovering figure skating is also the best thing that happened to me. For me I searched for figure skating on KZbin many years ago while joining some skating sessions with friends. Then KZbin recommended me more and more content. I was always a casual fan who simply watched during the Grand Prix seasons and world championships (But mostly just ladies). But started from Yuzuru's Seimei program, I got more and more interested in men's skating, and there's almost no day passing by without watching some sort of Yuzuru content haha 😆

I've been the athletic type and a super fan of sports that I enjoy and follow almost all Olympic games. It never occurred to me or even bat an eye to figure skating despite Kim Yuna's popularity because our country do not have winter season. But one time, while scrolling the Olympic KZbin channel to watch some replays, I tried playing this "Yuzuru Hanyu" performance and there and then... I would have never known how beautiful figure skating is until watching such beautiful, amazing, awesome, sophisticated performance of a guy full of passion for art. From then on, I waited for his performance in 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and despite the fact that he did not win a medal, I felt even more proud of him. He is the epitome of hard work, talent, charisma and every good thing on earth God could offer. At this time, he is still the only male figure skater that had me cry because of the explosion of emotions I felt while watching him on screen. I wish he be the first to land 4A!!!!!

This is the mean reasons why i do really love Yuzuru Hanyu. I don't have any interest in skating before and it just I accidentally saw one of his performances in some clips while scrolling videos. In that video, I can't explain how I feel, I felt that I was drawn and immersed by him and he inspired me in his personality. I didn't even know at that time that he is olympic champion. According to the data reported in the analysis Yuzu was more mentioned in the English-speaking media than all other athletes in position 2-5 added together??!!😱 Without medals and with a doping scandal that must have pushed Valieva a lot in these numbers... If we add Japanese and Chinese-speaking media, the gap is even more mind boggling. His Chinese Weibo super-talk has been consistently first in Sports since February. Even now he is firmly first above Chinese stars like Eileen Gu and the new Oly champions Sui / Han. Obviously his many envious antis try to belittle this popularity by saying that it is due to Yuzu's kpop idol look or the success of Yuri on Ice. As if in the world there were no other good-looking artists much more active than him on social media, or as if the other skaters, both Asian and Western, were all ugly (they aren't, hot guys are many among skaters...). There are many handsome boys in the world, but none skates like Yuzuru, with his magnetic charisma and his devotion to every aspect of the sport.

Haha yeah in the subtitles of the video, you can find many languages too. All these languages were added in request by comments from previous videos. I remember the first time we saw some Vietnamese / Arabic comments asking us if possible to add subtitles in that languages? We were so surprised. There's once when we made a video about Hanyu's thesis, someone emailed us saying they are a group fo Hanyu fans in Turkey. They offered to add the Turkish subtitles for us in that video. We sent over the script and in a few hours they sent us back the translated version. So cool haha 😀 Do share it with more and more people if you can! Hopefully more and more people discover this incredible human being 💓

Everytime I watch something discussing yuzuru is such light I can't help but feel, there really can't be another like him. Yes in the coming decades this sport may change in many ways (might even be unrecognisable considering what's happening lmao) and new skaters who are really good will come. But I don't really think there will be another Hanyu Yuzuru ever.

Yuzuru Hanyu is the best skater. He made me fall in love with male ice skating and his native country, Japan. I follow it since 2010 when I discovered after the Olympics (where I watched a Yuna Kim my favorite femele skater ) on KZbin. He combines technique with interpretation in a magnificent way. So far I have not seen this at any other skater. Even in Nathan, Shoma and Yuma see the technical part more than the artistic one. On ice he makes a show with one/ two jumps (eg Notre Stella, Haru yo Koi) while the others uses more jumps. He is very elegant, refined, sophisticated, special and a man who conveys much kindness and joy. One of my dreams is to see Yuzuru skating live. I hope to see him in the 2023 / 2024 season and at the Olympic Games in Turin. I hope to be healthy and to enjoy as much as possible with his skating. Without him the skating will become a bit boring. He has more fan in Romania .

Yuzuru's love and respect for Shoma and Yuma comes from the treatment he got from his Seniors i guess and he doesn't wanna make his juniors feel the way he felt. Also Javi's acceptance of Yuzu as a training mate and competing but cheering for each other at the same time had a big impact on their lives, made them better sportsmen.
