@@purple9293 he retired but also the olympic rules in scoring have changed. You don't get points for transitions and musical interpretations anymore. You only get judged based off your jumps and techniques... :( Really sucks, hope it gets changed eventually.

A beautiful program from the 19-year-old Yuzuru in 2014, no one could combine such high level technique in this quality, with all the intricacies and fantastic musicality he had. He won the free skate with this great performance which earned him the first World Championships gold medal. Remember, it was a long season in which he became the first skater since the early 2000s who had won the Grand Prix Final, the Olympic Games and World Championships gold medal. For me personally Ice skating will never be the same without him. I understand his decision, and I know there are a lot also very skilled ice skaters around and there will be even maybe a new Hanyu in the future, but the way Yuzuru has changed the sport for me is once in a lifetime. He is my absolute GOAT and I wish him all the love and all the best for his future career. Personally, although with my mind I understand it, and I knew it was coming, I am so so sad... Thank god we have all those wonderful memories of his phenomenal routines.

I realize he had lots of memories at Sataima Super Arena icerink - 2013 Jnats: first earn 100 points after SP -> hold the JNats record score with -/+3 GOE -> selected as a 2014 Olympian then he won 🥇 - 2014 Worlds: won 1st despite back injury - 2019 Worlds: first earn 200 points at FS, 300 points total score with -/+5 GOE. Only him ratified 4T3A but only 15,40 points base value with 10% bonus points when he still competed wtf 🤬 after he finished his last competition at Olympic 2022, you fix that rule at 2022 Congress: 17,50 points base value like Shoma 3A4T at WTT 19, 21 - his last clean skate (SP) was at Jnats 2021 - his 1st 4A attempt was at last Jnats 2021 - when he practiced his last JNats, he jumped beautiful 3A3Lo. Love that combo

He’s the only figure skater who can wear that costume and also both Romeo & Juliet on ice. The most handsome figure skater I’ve ever known. Thank you for skating, Yuzuru Wow both of his 2 FS at Saitama Worlds 2014 & 2019 were quite clean skate. Thank you ☺️ He won his 1st world Gold with back injury when finished his last Romeo & Juliet 2.0 with white costume but still performed beautiful Biellman spin. And he didn’t fall any jump, especially his quads. Thank you GOAT Yuzuru with 19 - at the age of 19 in 2013-2014, this was his most success season because he won GPF, Olympics and Worlds. - 7 (day) + 12 (December) = 19. 19/7/2022 was the day he announced retirement as a competitive figure skater then he will be a professional figure skater in the future - he was the only Japanese Olympian who won gold at Sochi 2014 at the age of 19 - he became the 1st skater who got 100 SP - he still the only Asian men single skater who won gold at Olympics and he did twice

Я теперь каждый прокат Юдзуру смотрю со слезами на глазах, потому что понимаю, что вместе с ним ушла душа фигурного катания, что без Юзу оно осиротело, что не будет больше новых шедевров, ожидания и предвкушения, замирания перед экраном, не будет радости от его побед и горечи - от поражений. The new rules can be very damaging indeed. But seing something like this, I think, would not happen anyways. He is one of these few people that occur once in a while, extraordinary and 100%unique. I think if rules did encourage working on the whole aspects of skating, not only jumps and choreo, then we could expect great things from skaters like Yuma Kagiyama, as he is showing good skills already. But we will see. I'll always cherish Yuzuru for his impact on my most loved sport, and for so many years of fantastic skating and emotions! 💖

The new stupid rules make him doesn’t want to compete anymore after Beijing 2022 and his injuries too because that was so unfair for him. Example about his 4T3A at Worlds 2019 only 15,40 with 10% bonus base value points but after he finished his last competition (Beijing Olympics 2022), ISU fixed 4T3A base value is 17,50 like Shoma attempted 3A4T at World Team Trophy 2019 and 2021. Yuzuru wants to make this sport more aristric with beautiful costumes, not only (quads) jump but also his very difficult spin too (especially his Biellmann spin) but ISU and JSF said no no no

You realize someone will always be better than the previous skaters right? Hanyu is NOT the GOAT. Nathan Chen is just better than him. However, even Nathan Chen will be surpassed by someone younger in about a couple years or so. Someone will always get better than the previous champions and that’s the fact of life.

Yuzuru has every jump right into the musical accent. This has been Yuzuru's way since 2011. So why didn't the judges see this with the new judging system? But for whom the money was brought, they see the last two criteria for +5 GOE?
