Yuzuru Hanyu SP - Parisienne Walkways | Olympics 2014

One of the first programs that piqued my interest in figure skating! Loved it! Side by side comparison of Yuzuru Hanyu's Short Program Parisienne Walkways at the 2014 Olympic events.
Yuzuru Hanyu broke his own world record in the men's short program individual event, scoring 101.45 points. He was the first skater to score over 100 points in the short program.

absolutely beautiful, thank you for these comparisons! the more i watch it the more i’m in awe at how almost identically he performed, although you can see that he put just a little more into the men’s event than the team event. at the single’s event, you can see he adds little things and immerses himself completely into the music, like at 0:47 when he does the head nod that he didn’t do in the team, or at 1:29 when he brings his hand down like he’s grasping something, rather than just dropping his arm like he did in the team event. yuzuru is phenomenal, he truly is the greatest of all time

And these little details lead to a difference of 3.47 points in total. That was worth a double Axel back then 😁

I can see the 3 points difference. In the men’s event he is more relaxed so he’s able to be more with the music. Also his first set of spins on the new one is just a lot nicer and cleaner.

Потрясающие синхронность и параллелизм, где сбой был только один раз. Поразительный, 19-летний Yuzu - сокровище и подарок человечеству, - хотя бы и только его части. Спасибо авторам этой идеи.

Soooo I'm back at it with commenting on your videos (yup, I'm still not done with exams heheh) - I love just how similar those two videos look, you can see it not only in the choreography of Yuzuru's performance, but also in the way of filming it. I suppose you would record skating programmes a particular way... Are there any conventions? I really don't know anything about filming, if any of you know something about it, please enlighten me :-) At any rate, I find this one really impressive, both the performance and the editing. RESPECT!
