Dior. I thought it was interesting, to me at least, that Dior created the classic scarpin.

Hi Allison, this was great. You really did your research and memorized it too! I love the old YSL blush prior to the latest launch, it is Rouge Volupte with the highlighter/lighter shade in the middle. The Powder is so finely milled & blends like an absolute dream. I had three or four shades and now I am down to two -it is so sad! I tried one of the new blushes and they are a strange texture and very shimmery. I also have a limited edition highlighting powder called the SHOCK and it is the most beautiful nude beige pink. I wear it almost every day and I’m surprised I still have some left! I found the eyeshadows to be so so, the mascara good but dries out fast. The lipsticks are pretty good. Of course the touché eclat pen is still excellent. The packaging is very pretty also. I would like to see more videos like this, it was well done!

I LOVE this kind of video so much! I love and appreciate history behind anything I’m interested in and this is no exception. Kevyn Acoin or Way Bandy or Francisco Scavullo would be interesting to profile at some point if that interests you. (I realize KA & WB are MUA and Fs was a famous photographer) I watched a documentary on Kevyn A once- just a beautiful remarkably talented person. My “son” who is trans, suffers from depression and is a fabulous actor but also really struggling and trying to figure out his place in life right now at 22. We are extremely close now but when he came out, it was 2016 and I was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer and close to death, so it wasn’t a simple or easy matter for any of us at that time. You just never know how life will twist and turn. 🥰thanks for such a wonderful video- i felt melancholy after listening to this story too - but more because creative people can be so successful in one right but live such torture lives. On a side note, did you ever see the film, The Danish Girl? One of my favorites! I’m going to try and find Y’St Laurent’s fashion show you mentioned!!
@AllisonChase4 жыл бұрын
Laura Libner Hi Laura! I put a link to the fashion show down below! Yes I did watch The Danish Girl, it was a really good movie! I’m glad your son came out and is trying to find his place in the world, it’s really hard to do that. I’m also glad you’re feeling much better. I hope you’re in remission.

Allison Chase I am in remission😍😉 it’s hard to believe I was ever that sick but I have the scars on my body to prove it🙁. Yes- I found the video! His designs are right up my alley- long stream lines blazers are what I love to wear when I’m going out. I am looking online for vintage YSL blazers size 8 but I see most are out of my price range!! I better look for some good dupes!😂

Enjoyed this so much. I didn't realize I was quoting him all the time with... but style is eternal. Going to check out the last show of his. I've always been attracted YSL aesthetic and now I realize why. It's definitely the idea of the comfortable elegance for women. As for next designer I know everyone will say Chanel lol so I will just say that lately I've been an admirer of Eli Saab. But not sure if they are an entire "house of fashion". It's interesting I keep looking up gowns from the red carpet that Im in love with and 9/10 the designer is Lebanese. I find that so interesting. Maybe they have a strong design programme/legacy over there.

Unfortunately I don't have good experiences with YSL makeup products... I only ended up buying a few because as I was walking towards the Tom Ford counter, an extremely charismatic lady snatched me away who turned out to be a YSL rep :D Their blush went hardpan in about 3 weeks, and after one application I just gifted the Tattoo liquid lipstick to my friend: it stains heavily. I don't like it however my friend and many do saying it's less fussy to reapply cuz the stain just lasts! :D I like history in general and fashion more so this video is the best thing I can watch! Please continue making them! : ) (Oh, and I would so gladly share, but have absolutely no friends who are into fashion : / )

In the late 70's, with Opium, he introduced billowy dresses, blouses & skirts done with luxurious fabrics in bright colors and bold prints with beads and belts and scarves! It was a blast of fresh, fun, femininity after a long stretch of women being tweeded, tailored and turtle-necked. (Your kimono is perfect!) My mom went bananas over the new craze! His imagination sparked hers. My proper, lady-like mom got caught up in the free spirited madness & it's heart warming remember. She bloomed, she smiled more, wore blush, brighter lip color, & attempted eye liner for the first time ever... ("Does it look bad?") My mom needed to be a little bad! It was a GOOD thing! She wanted YSL Rive Gauche - named after the artsy Left Bank - for Christmas, which smells divine. I was working in cosmetics during Christmas break & was able to pick it up with my discount. What happy memories you've given me! He truly influenced fashion & makeup in a huge way and I experienced it first hand! Thank you, Alli! Awesome job & you look stunning.

Yes, I really liked it at the time (it has been 3 years or so), I remember that it looked very natural. The coverage was light but buildable to medium. But the problem was the shade range (at least in my country), so I never bough it again.
