As a kid I thought these. Actresses were pleasant to look at, likeable. It’s only as an adult did I see how amazingly fantastic the ladies of my childhood oldies re-runs were. Yvonne, slamming figure. Pat Priest, Barbara Eden. Linda Carter! Supermodel hot walking around in a bikini 80% of the series. I didn’t care if she stopped a real crime or a monopoly, bad real estate deal. Some of these ladies ended up being some of the most attractive women ever to be on TV

I met Yvonne Craig in 1990 at a comics convention in Oakland. She was absolutely stunning and very nice and her sister looked even better than she did right next to her with Grace Lee Whitney, who looked incredible and to the left of her was Julie Newmar, so we had two out of three Batmanactresses at the same spot. They were also several people who had been on Star Trek including the sub commander from the enterprise incident and two Ben who played thugs in a piece of the action so it was great fun to meet Yvonne Craig and I had a crush on her for years.

I used to watch the 1960s Batman series, yes it was camp and corny but it was suitable for children to watch unlike alot of TV 📺 shows nowadays. Yvonne Craig (R.I.P) stole the show though even if she only appeared in one season. She was gorgeous 😍 and very talented, lighting up the screen with her mere presence. Unlike alot of TV 📺 shows the cast of Batman all got on like a house 🏠 on fire 🔥 and had a whale 🐋 of a time working together.

Just think she appeared long before Wonder Woman on tv and as for Batgirl the Future in comics was a shored the Batgirl appeared alongside Batman and Robin her role wasn't as big back then it would take a few decades for her character to become popular or more likely develop into a stable relationship with Batman and Robin. She Batgirl has changed from being a sidekick of sorts to a solo hero and a match for all those villains except with some bad or heavy sense with her being attacked by the Joker and left in a wheelchair for years but a positive way back was her chance to become the Oracle a tech and Internet eyes and ears for those other heroes of DC universe. Technically still Batgirl but Oracle. She Batgirl triumphantly returned not before there were other Batgirls and Batwoman and Huntress emerged from the shadows of the Batcave. Batgirl Birds Of Pray Oracle Barbara Gordon would never be possible if wasn't for a tv series all those years ago a pantheon that gave us Wonder Woman and The Bionic Woman and Peggy Carter and maybe many female secret agents like from Uncle and Get Smart and female villains Catwoman and the Borg Queen NG and Nanny Goodness and many others. Inspired by television movies books and history. Batgirl was the first there was Flash Gordon's girlfriend and more.

The Green Hornet TV series played straight, not as a spoof. It promptly flopped. It could have been the same with Batgirl.
@OneStepPast9 ай бұрын
I did an interview with Van Williams (Green Hornet, himself). There were other factors that played into it's cancellation after one season. Playing it straight had little to do with it. The show got half the budget of Batman and not much promotion. Van wanted it to be an hour instead of a half hour to build more character development. Ratings weren't the biggest problem. Van was losing interest in the show as it was and so were the show runners. Really, concentrating on more than one show (Batman) was too much for William Dozier to handle. He had a really farcical pilot for Wonder Woman that never saw the light of day...cornier than Batman.

I do agree on the point that modern Batman (mid-90s to now) really sucks in most media. They made him too darn serious and the fact that they have him beating Superman is preposterous.
