I mean, the machine is designed to make money. If you make it actually worth that a 1/6 chance makes up for the money that the machine cost+the money you spend on the presents inside, you must make sure you dont have someone who has a lucky streak and actually loses you money unless each shot is close to 50% of the cost of the prizes. Which simply isnt really worth trying at that point for the players. So instead, they want each shot to cost about 10% of the prize, and instead of 1/6, they decrease the chance to be more like 1/16, that way, on average, you are guaranteed to make money that will cover the cost of the machine AND the prizes, and people have a chance of getting the prize for less money than you paid for it. And once they recieved the cost prize of the machine, they can increase the chances to attract more customers by putting in more expensive prizes, or buy a second machine with the profits of the first one. It's not business if you dont earn money, carnaval games being RNG and playing it fair doesnt earn money, so you have to be unfair with the RNG with the extra cost being returned in the form of a show. Carnavals are essentially putting a tax on fun. Having fun? You better pay for that entertainment.

@@lettuce1626 no, the point of this claw machine is to get the yellow side facing the top side as it lands, except one of the sides is the heaviest thus the yellow side faces away from the top most of the time . That's why people say the dice is weighted.

@@lettuce1626 There is probably a magnet on the other side that triggers a mechanism. And that mechanism would give you your prize(or tickets so you can buy your prize at a counter). Since a magnet on one side makes that side heavier, they need to counteract that weight on the otherside, and since the game is meant to make money, they add slightly more weight so that the chance of the yellow face isnt 1 in 6(like normal dice), but probably closer to 1/16. And yeah, its a carnaval game, all carnaval games are rigged. You're paying extra for the entertainment, and there are 2 ways to make people pay for the entertainment: 1. demanding an entry ticket. 2. rigging the games. If you're just going to the carnaval for the prizes, you should simply find out where the carnaval orders their prizes and buy them yourself.
